The company quickly implemented the plan.
Investing in modern infrastructure and digitalization is an indispensable solution for leading businesses. Specifically, Truong Hai International Logistics Company Limited (THILOGY, Truong Hai Group) has invested in a multimodal transport system that seamlessly connects seaports, Chu Lai airport (planned as a 4F-level airport), railways, and transnational transport (via Laos and Cambodia).
Mr. Phan Van Ky, Director of Chu Lai International Port, informed that the port is applying an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to integrate data on a single management platform; and simultaneously operating various software programs such as: ePort (electronic seaport), smart gate, general cargo handling management (PL-COS), container handling management (PL-TOS), warehouse management (WMS), electronic customs declaration (VNACCS/VCIS)…
These solutions enable customers to conduct import and export procedures online 24/7 with high security, thereby improving service quality and saving time and costs for businesses. From 2025 to 2027, THILOGI will continue to implement modern technology solutions, build a flexible management system, and focus on training personnel to meet the digital transformation strategy, aiming for a green, smart, and sustainable port model.

Similarly, Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company is striving towards a digital port. Mr. Duong Duc Xuan, Deputy General Director of Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company, said that the company applies many modern and advanced technologies from both domestic and international sources to its operations, exploitation, and management.
Following the completion of ePORT and AutoGate software projects, Da Nang Port has successfully completed information technology and digital transformation projects, ensuring the stable operation of the ePort (Electronic Port) system with performance indicators ranging from 99% to 100%. This not only brings cost benefits but also enhances the port's reputation and image, attracting investment and creating a favorable business environment.
The highlight is the installation of eTractor information receiving devices on all tractor trailers to receive signals in the container ship handling chain, aiming to ensure traffic safety and save on investment costs for research and development of the eCPS automated vehicle tracking system using artificial intelligence (AI).
Recently, Viettel Post Corporation commenced construction of the Da Nang Logistics Center project in Lien Chieu Industrial Park. The project, built on an area of 8.6 hectares with a total investment of over 722 billion VND, includes three warehouse blocks with a total area of nearly 40,000 m². The center will be implemented on a modern technology platform, with data and speed as core values.

According to Mr. Phung Van Cuong, General Director of Viettel Post, calculations show that the center, once operational, is expected to shorten operating time by 33% and save approximately 348,000 km of transportation per month, reduce fuel costs and emissions, contribute to improving the operational capacity of the entire region, and move towards a green and efficient logistics model.
Previously, many smart logistics centers and warehouses were invested in the city, such as: the U&I Logistics Center with a scale of 316 billion VND and the Con Ong Distribution Center with a scale of 100 billion VND in Da Nang High-Tech Park; the Transimex Da Nang Center in Hoa Cam Industrial Park…
In line with the development of smart logistics, Dana Logistics Joint Stock Company is accelerating the progress of the Da Nang Logistics Center project (phase 1) in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park to meet the supply chain needs of the Central and Central Highlands regions.
Mr. Nguyen Tuong Huy, representative of Dana Logistics Joint Stock Company, said that the project has a scale of 255 billion VND, aiming to be a goods sorting warehouse to supply and distribute food and consumer goods using modern management technology and multimodal connectivity.
Urgent requirement
Identifying the "leverage" for Da Nang to become a future logistics center through green and digital transformation, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, General Director of Portcoast Consulting and Design Joint Stock Company (the unit that developed the Da Nang port plan), said that Da Nang has always been a leader in digital transformation, such as: e-government, application of BIM and GIS technology to build "digital replicas" for projects... Lien Chieu Port also commits to being a green, modern port, in line with the global trend of reducing emissions.
Da Nang possesses a strategic location for trade, known as a "dual gateway": Da Nang serves as both the gateway to the East-West Economic Corridor and simultaneously boasts both Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport. Adjacent to this, the vital international shipping routes between Asia and Europe and Asia and America pass through the East Sea region, allowing Lien Chieu Port to receive large container ships from around the world .
Lien Chieu Port is planned for 100,000-ton vessels, but it is entirely feasible to upgrade the design to accommodate 200,000 to 250,000-ton vessels – the largest container ships in the world today – because Da Nang Bay has a good natural depth (-14m), a breakwater, and a short and quiet access channel.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan suggested that Da Nang could learn from successful integrated port models combining maritime logistics (Jebel Ali port) and air transport (Dubai airport) or Busan port (South Korea). Busan, the world's seventh largest seaport, has achieved success thanks to its close integration with the Busan Free Economic Zone.

According to Thomas Sim, President of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), advanced economies such as Singapore, Dubai, and Shanghai are leading the way in developing smart ports and smart airports.
In this context, smart logistics infrastructure operates based on core technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology, automated robots, AI-powered truck tracking and monitoring systems, or the use of automated guided vehicles (AGVs)...
To complete a smart ecosystem, a single-window mechanism plays a crucial role. This is a common platform connecting many stakeholders in the supply chain, including the public and private sectors, shipping companies, airlines, customs agencies, banks, logistics companies, etc.
The goal of this system is to help users enter all information accurately and only once, avoiding duplicate data entry. Data must be standardized according to global standards, saving time and effort in editing.

According to Ms. Le Thi Kim Phuong, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City, the orientation towards developing green and digital logistics is clearly reflected in the construction and development of the city's two new strategic infrastructures: the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and Lien Chieu Port.
Free trade zones create a superior institutional framework, attracting investment in high-tech manufacturing, processing, fabrication, and logistics services, thereby generating high value-added export goods. Currently, the units implementing the solution are developing plans to operate smart free trade zones.
The processes of goods operation and monitoring, customs management, and administrative services for businesses in the free trade zone will be highly digitized and automated, creating a favorable and transparent business environment.
Lien Chieu Port is currently an international transshipment port with a green and smart orientation. In terms of road access, the port is connected to the national transport system by 4km; and directly to the national railway system by only 1.5km.
Furthermore, the development of regional connectivity requires Da Nang to undergo a strong green and digital transformation. Currently, Da Nang focuses on its role as a logistics development hub and a logistics center in Central Vietnam, connecting the North-South corridor and the East-West Economic Corridor.
