Actress Nhung Kate played the role of Yen in the John Wick prequel series "The Continental: From the World of John Wick" (or simply "The Continental"). While the film wasn't highly rated for its quality, Nhung Kate's performance received much praise from the press. She spoke Vietnamese in scenes with her husband Frankie and other characters. Frankie also spoke Vietnamese with Nhung Kate's character, Yen.

CNN called Nhung Kate the best character among the interesting names in the film. Yen always uses her fists as her preferred escape method in every dangerous situation.

Actress Ngo Thanh Van made a cameo appearance in the film "The Creator." She played the beautiful character Kami, saying a few lines in Vietnamese: "No need for change, hurry up and leave. Bye bye!". Although it was only a cameo role with limited screen time, Ngo Thanh Van still managed to make an impression on the character, leaving a lasting mark on the audience rather than simply fading into obscurity.

Ngo Thanh Van once shared: "When participating in any Hollywood project, I always change the character's origin to Vietnamese. If it's already a Vietnamese character, I often add distinctive Vietnamese elements to the Vietnamese dialogue. I think that when you have the opportunity to appear in an international project, you always want to create an impression to let people know that you are Vietnamese. The Vietnamese dialogue in 'The Creator' was also added by me."

The actress added that she had discussed many details regarding the Vietnamese setting and language in the film with director Gareth Edwards. Director Gareth Edwards gave the actors the freedom to express themselves within the scope of their characters.

Therefore, when working together, she always feels really comfortable. They discuss and share more about the context and vocabulary of Vietnam.
