Amnesty for prisoners on the occasion of National Day, September 2nd.

On the morning of September 1st, commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, Kenh 7 Prison - under the Department of Prison Management, Compulsory Education Facilities, and Juvenile Detention Centers - Ministry of Public Security (located in Dong Thai and U Minh Thuong communes, An Giang province) held a ceremony to announce the President's decision on the second amnesty of 2025 for 167 inmates.

Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Vu, Deputy Superintendent in charge of Kenh 7 Prison, announced the President 's amnesty decision.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Vu, Deputy Superintendent in charge of Kenh 7 Prison, emphasized: “Amnesty is a special policy of clemency, reflecting the humane and compassionate traditions of our Party and State, creating an opportunity for those who have made mistakes to correct their errors, rebuild their lives, and continue to fully exercise their rights and obligations as citizens. I hope that those of you granted amnesty today will recognize your past mistakes, cherish the value of freedom, preserve family happiness, respect the law, stay away from vices, and utilize the skills you have learned in prison to work, produce, and build a new life.”

Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Vu also affirmed that the process of reviewing and recommending pardons at Kenh 7 Prison was conducted seriously, openly, transparently, and in accordance with legal procedures and regulations. He expressed his hope that those inmates who did not meet the criteria in this round would continue to strive, abide by the rules, study and work diligently to improve their rehabilitation, and soon have the opportunity to receive clemency from the Party and the State.

Family members and inmates attended the ceremony announcing the amnesty decision.

Deeply moved upon receiving the amnesty decision, inmate Phan Quoc Anh (from Can Tho City) shared: “This is a precious opportunity for me to start over. I promise to work hard, live honestly, and not betray the trust of the prison officers, my family, and society.”

Representatives from Kenh 7 Prison and the People's Procuracy of An Giang province presented amnesty decisions and vocational training certificates to pardoned inmates.

Sharing the same sentiment, inmate Bui Anh Kha (41 years old, from Phu Quoc Special Zone) choked up and said: “Thanks to the dedicated education and rehabilitation efforts of the prison officers, I am where I am today. I would like to thank the Party and the State and promise to avoid past mistakes and strive to become a useful citizen.”

Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Vu, Deputy Superintendent in charge of Kenh 7 Prison, presents gifts to inmates with difficult circumstances who are serving their sentences.

On this occasion, Kenh 7 Prison donated 15 gifts and Mobifone Kien Giang donated 10 gifts to inmates with difficult family circumstances who are serving their sentences.

On the morning of September 1st, the Phu Quoc Detention Center (part of Prison No. 2, An Giang Provincial Police) announced the President's decision to grant amnesty to three prisoners serving their sentences.

The Phu Quoc Regional Detention Center announced the President's decision to grant amnesty to 3 prisoners.

According to the President's decision, the three prisoners granted early amnesty are those who have shown good behavior during their imprisonment, strictly adhered to the rules and regulations of the prison, and meet the criteria for receiving clemency and humane treatment from the Party and the State.
