7th Congress of the Provincial Association of the Blind

On December 14th, the Ninh Binh Provincial Association of the Blind held its 7th Congress of Delegates for the 2023-2028 term.

Attending the Congress were leaders from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Blind; representatives from several departments and agencies of the province; leaders of the Associations of the Blind from several provinces: Thanh Hoa , Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam; and more than 100 exemplary members representing over 1,400 members of the Associations of the Blind at all levels in the province.

The Provincial Association of the Blind currently has 1,467 members, operating in 129 branches across 8 districts and cities. Implementing the Resolution of the 6th Congress (2018-2023), the Provincial Association of the Blind has fulfilled its planned targets, including exceeding some targets such as: recruiting new members and establishing more branches; caring for the material and spiritual well-being of the blind; opening literacy and vocational training classes, etc.

In particular, with job creation loans from the National Fund, many jobs have been created, increasing income for members, and 100% of members have no outstanding debts or overdue loans. The Association's production facilities are increasingly strengthened and developed, especially massage and acupressure services, contributing to increased income and improved living standards for members. In addition, the Association has also taken advantage of sponsorships and fundraising efforts to help visually impaired people alleviate difficulties.

From 2018 to the present, the Association has mobilized support to repair and build 27 houses for its members with a total amount of over 1.4 billion VND; more than 6,300 members have received emergency assistance during difficult times, natural disasters, floods, holidays, the COVID-19 pandemic, etc., with a total amount of over 2.7 billion VND and many other gifts. Thanks to this, the Association has contributed to reducing the poverty rate of its members from 8.02% in 2018 to below 5% by the end of 2023 (according to the new poverty standard), enhancing the Association's position and truly becoming a solid support for its members.

At the Congress, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work during the 2018-2023 term received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee and Commemorative Medals from the Central Association of the Blind of Vietnam; and Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Association of the Blind.

Executive Committee of the Provincial Association of the Blind, 7th term, 2023-2028.

The Congress elected and introduced the Executive Committee of the Association for the seventh term, 2023-2028, consisting of 12 members. Mr. Pham Van Giang was elected as the Chairman of the Provincial Association of the Blind.
