Reading Ambassador – Knowledge Ambassador

DNO – On July 17th, the Da Nang General Science Library enthusiastically welcomed 40 outstanding candidates who entered the direct interview round – also the final round of the Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador 2025 competition. These are excellent "young talents" selected from thousands of primary, secondary, and high school students and Continuing Education Centers across the city.

The competition is organized annually by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang city, with the mission of spreading a love of books, building reading habits, and developing self-learning abilities in students.

Through each round of the competition, students not only hone their knowledge but are also encouraged to express their personal feelings, share their reading journeys, and propose initiatives to promote a reading culture in schools and communities.

During this morning's interview round, many candidates made a strong impression with their confident demeanor, articulate presentation skills, and profound emotions when talking about their favorite books. For them, books are not just learning tools but also "great friends"—quietly accompanying them, nurturing their souls, and inspiring beautiful thoughts.

Student Doan Vu Minh Thu, 11th grader at Nguyen Trai High School (Lien Chieu district), shared: “Books help me mature in my thinking, learn empathy, and understand myself better. Nguyen Nhat Anh's book, 'Balloons to the Sky, ' is my choice this year – a work that has changed my perspective on kindness, perseverance, and living responsibly. I want to spread these values ​​to my peers.”

Living with Books – A Enduring and Inspiring Journey

The interview atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, yet still full of inspiration. Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, a teacher at Nguyen Trai High School, expressed: “I truly felt that the students have lived with books, not just read them for exams. The way they shared showed that books have become ingrained in their thoughts, actions, and lifestyles.”

Sharing the same viewpoint, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports and a member of the judging panel, repeatedly affirmed that the most valuable aspect of the competition lies not in the scores or prizes, but in the journey of living with books, thereby forming humane thoughts, beautiful emotions, and positive actions in each student.

In the preliminary round, contestants could choose to write an essay or create a video – this approach showcased individual strengths and encouraged creativity in their approach to books. Notably, this year's Vietnamese-English bilingual category featured many outstanding entries with natural, creative expression and diverse perspectives.

The competition also acknowledges the active support of parents, teachers, and schools – those who have silently inspired, guided, and empowered the children on their journey to acquire knowledge and grow through books.

The official results and awards ceremony are expected to be announced soon. The top-ranking contestants will not only be honored at the city level but will also have the opportunity to represent Da Nang in the national competition, spreading the spirit of reading in Da Nang further.

Through the pages of books, children are quietly nurturing a love of knowledge, cultivating character, and inspiring aspirations for a beautiful life. The competition not only honors "ambassadors of reading culture" but also expands the reading space – a space for young minds that know how to think, feel, and live with kindness.
