Ensuring security and order at the 'gateway to the Northwest'

On November 6th, Inspection Team No. 3 of the Ministry of Public Security, led by Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Public Security, conducted an inspection and evaluation of various aspects of police work and the results of achieving the 2025 work targets for the Son La Provincial Police.

Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Public Security, commended the achievements and results of the Son La Provincial Police in the past period, noting that in the coming time, the unit needs to be more proactive in understanding and forecasting the situation; and more decisive in the fight against crime. The Provincial Police should continue to do well in ensuring security and order, focusing on advising and implementing the high-intensity campaign to ensure security and order for the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly, the election of deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the 2026 New Year and Lunar New Year; protecting internal political security , protecting economic security, and strengthening the prevention and control of cybercrime and high-tech crime. The Son La Provincial Police continue to proactively improve the quality of their work in gathering and forecasting information, and advising the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Ministry of Public Security on directing various aspects of work to contribute to ensuring security and order at the "Northwest gateway".

From the beginning of the year until now, Son La province has experienced 2,079 social order incidents, of which 2,068 have been investigated and clarified (reaching 99.47%). The provincial police are aggressively implementing tasks and solutions to achieve the goal of reducing social order crimes by 5%. In 2025, Son La aims for a 43.1% reduction in criminal offenses compared to the same period in 2024. The provincial police have focused on organizing operational activities to combat large-scale drug trafficking rings and individuals; drug-related crimes involving weapons; wanted and sought individuals; and locations and individuals involved in the illegal buying, selling, harboring, and use of narcotics.

On the other hand, the Son La Provincial Police have effectively implemented campaigns to clean up marriage data and streamline procedures for confirming marital status in the province; and campaigns to issue electronic Party membership cards… The Provincial Police have also implemented many solutions to curb fires and explosions; strengthened measures to reduce traffic accidents; and actively and proactively prevented, responded effectively to, and minimized damage caused by natural disasters, contributing to the stability and socio-economic development of the locality.

Furthermore, the Son La Provincial Police successfully organized the Provincial Police Delegates Congress for the 2025-2030 term; effectively implemented the policy of streamlining the organizational structure, focusing on consolidating the internal organizational structure, dissolving 12 district-level police forces; reorganizing the commune-level police force to 75 units; and reassigning and reorganizing the staff after streamlining and consolidating the provincial police organizational structure to ensure efficient, effective, and effective operation…
