Appearing at the press conference of Miss Tourism Vietnam, singer Dam Vinh Hung shared with VietNamNet reporter the reason for accepting the program because it is organized in Hanoi with a large scale and serious investment. Currently, he is playing the role of guest performer and whether or not he will be an official judge, Dam Vinh Hung and his team will discuss further with the Organizing Committee.
The male singer affirmed that no matter what role he plays, he always wants to contribute well-prepared performances that are suitable for the tourism theme so that the audience can fully enjoy it.
Sharing about his return after a period of trouble and a temporary hiatus from performing, Dam Vinh Hung said he felt like a young singer returning to the beginning of his career with full enthusiasm, making daily efforts to maintain his position in the hearts of the audience.
He said that after the incident, his outlook on life changed a lot, and every time he faced a storm, he gained new insights.
"I always choose to think positively because if I still have my voice, my health, and my life, I can still do everything again. Most importantly, I no longer live for myself but also for my son - Polo. He is the one who gives me a lot of mental strength. During the most difficult times, I choose to stay away from social media, avoid reading negative news, and only spend time with my son. That moment is the key to help me calm down, become stronger and move on," Dam Vinh Hung shared.
The male singer sometimes wonders, "If I hadn't done that, would things have been different?" But he thinks that if there were no "if" in this world, it would no longer be life. Every decision in the past has a reason and no matter what the consequences are, he has no regrets because those things have shaped him into the person he is today.
During the conversation, the male singer choked up at times, with tears in his eyes, sharing: "There were times when I couldn't stand on stage, and that was the saddest time for me. An artist, if he couldn't sing, couldn't meet the audience, sometimes felt like he was no longer alive. But I think, maybe that was the arrangement of the profession, of the universe, to give me time to calm down, so that the audience would remember me more."
Ask Dam Vinh Hung: In showbiz, there have been cases where a couple of artists argued and decided to buy all of each other's hits so that the other person would not have a chance to sing. And you, if you were in a situation where all of your hits were bought, how would you handle it?
The male singer said that it is true that showbiz has artists who "play tricks" by buying each other's hit songs to exclusively sing them. If someone bought all of his hit songs, he would still be calm.
"I'm a gambler but I don't play dirty. The buyer has the right to buy, the musician has the right to sell, and I can also pay double the price to get it back if I want. But in the end, the most important thing is that I choose the right way to behave, and not just because I can buy something, I can sing well," the male singer affirmed.
With the theme of Vietnam shining , the Miss Tourism Vietnam 2026 contest is expected to continue the success of previous years, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam from the mountains to the islands.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, People's Artist Quang Vinh - former Director of the Department of Performing Arts, Chairman of the contest's Jury, affirmed that the contest does not seek artificial beauty. The criteria for natural beauty are not only physical requirements but also demonstrate respect for personal identity and pride in what one has. He emphasized that Miss Tourism is not like other beauty contests, but aims at contestants with the potential to become media representatives for the tourism industry - one of the national economic spearheads.
According to the plan, the preliminary round of the Southern region will take place in November 2025, the Northern region in December 2025. The national semi-finals are expected to be held on December 27, 2025, before entering the national final night on January 10, 2026 in Quang Ninh . The main competitions include: Ao Dai performance, evening gown and behavioral round.
