At around 7 PM on May 2nd, the family of Ms. Dinh Thi Hue in Ha Luong village, Vo Liet commune, discovered their pigs lying scattered in the pen, many writhing in agony, suspected to have been electrocuted. The family immediately went to switch off the circuit breaker.
Immediately afterwards, people from the surrounding area came and pulled the pigs out of the pen. Some people urgently butchered the pigs on the spot. At this time, 10 pigs were already dead, and 7-8 were struggling in the pen, unable to move.
To help the bereaved family, many local residents and pig butchers in the area came to buy the pigs that died from electric shock at a price of around 2 million VND per animal.
That very night, Mrs. Hue's family had to sell off all the remaining pigs in their pen. According to Mrs. Hue, this litter consisted of 19 pigs, each currently weighing between 80 and 90 kg.
It is known that the family's livestock farm raises many types of animals, such as pigs, buffaloes, and chickens... The pigsty, in particular, is roofed with corrugated iron, and the front walls are made of steel. There are many electrical wires dangling inside the pigsty.
Local residents believe that the electrical wires were likely chewed by rats, and when it rained, it caused an electrical leak in the pigsty, electrocuting the pigs to death.
