Chieng An Primary and Secondary School is an inter-level school in a particularly disadvantaged commune of Muong La district, Son La province, with a total of 780 students. Of which, there are 513 primary school students and 267 secondary school students. The students here are mainly H'Mong ethnic group (accounting for 95%) and La Ha ethnic group (accounting for 5%). Through the survey, it was shown that due to difficult economic circumstances, many students have to stay at the school because their houses are far away, the road to school is very dangerous and difficult, especially in the rainy season. Meanwhile, the school's facilities are still lacking, the prefabricated boarding houses are old and degraded, and the boarding students are very crowded. Therefore, the need for support to build new houses for boarding students is very necessary.

Faced with the above situation, the Vietnam Children's Fund has coordinated with ABBANK to develop a support plan, guide localities to survey, make estimates and propose support for building boarding houses for school students.

The boarding house and auxiliary facilities of Chieng An Primary and Secondary School, Muong La District, Son La Province started construction in December 2024, with an area of 196m2, including 4 rooms; the toilet facility includes 2 rooms with an area of 40m2. Up to now, the project has been completed, clean and beautiful and put into use, thereby solving the difficulties in accommodation needs for local students.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund, supporting the construction of boarding houses and semi-boarding houses is one of the key programs of the Vietnam Children's Fund, which has been maintained for many years to care for and help ethnic minority children to have the conditions to stay in school and class, contributing to reducing the rate of highland students dropping out of school.

The construction of boarding houses and auxiliary works for students in Son La is a positive result of a special sports initiative of ABBANK called "Journey of a Thousand Miles - Nurturing a Thousand Dreams", calling for charity funds for the community by building the habit of exercising, improving health for themselves and their families. In addition, ABBANK also mobilized additional support for 50 poor students who overcome difficulties (scholarships, backpacks, uniforms) and donated a water purifier to the school with a total value of nearly 70 million VND.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Children's Fund mobilized Viet Dung Aluminum Joint Stock Company to sponsor essential equipment and supplies for students, including: 30 bunk beds, 20 stainless steel tables and chairs worth nearly 90 million VND.
