Earlier, on September 30th, nearly 40 officials, civil servants, union members, and members of the Fatherland Front Committee and other associations and organizations of Ban Thach ward marched to Tra Giap commune to commemorate the historical site. Together with local forces, the group constructed a "Party flag and national flag road," installed solar-powered streetlights along the inter-village road in Hamlet 2, contributing to beautifying the landscape and ensuring security and order. Kindergartens were also provided with toys and learning materials, further strengthening the bond and friendship between the two sister units.
Ban Thach Ward mobilized resources to donate 50 pieces of equipment and tools to support teaching and play for children; and 15 gift packages for poor households, families entitled to preferential policies, and respected individuals.
In particular, at Vo Thi Sau Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School, the delegation donated 15 laptop computers, including 2 for diligent students from disadvantaged backgrounds. On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the delegation also donated 2 sets of lion dance costumes and drums, along with 520 gift packages for students at various schools.
In a heartwarming atmosphere, the group also organized a buffet for boarding students at the school. It is also known that on October 4th, 15 disadvantaged junior high school students from Tra Giap commune will receive 15 bicycles to make getting to school more convenient.
In Viet An commune, the twinning program was also launched with many sharing activities. Mr. Huynh Huu Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the commune, said that the commune had donated a flag-lined road with 120 flagpoles and decorative flags along the central road of Tra Giap commune; two livelihood support packages for disadvantaged young people to help them rise up; and 14 gifts worth nearly 10 million VND for poor but studious students and disadvantaged families.
The total value of materials in this initial phase is estimated at over 250 million VND, contributed by officials, civil servants, employees of Ban Thach ward and Viet An commune, as well as the support of philanthropists. This is a vivid testament to the spirit of "mutual support" and also marks the beginning of the concretization program between the three localities as assigned by the Da Nang City Party Committee.
Deeply moved by the generosity, Nguyen Thi Dang, a 7th-grade student at Vo Thi Sau Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School, said: “This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival is the happiest for me. I received a computer for studying, watched the lion dance, and had gifts and a delicious meal. I can only thank the teachers and benefactors for their care and concern for us.”
Mr. Phan Duy Bien, the school principal, believes that the 15 donated computers are a very valuable gift, helping teachers and students to be more proactive in setting up computer labs and accessing technology.
Mr. Vo Thanh Cung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ban Thach Ward, shared: “Through our survey, we found that Tra Giap still faces many difficulties. Therefore, the officials and people of the ward are determined to support our neighboring commune through concrete actions. This is both a responsibility and an act of solidarity.”
Mr. Hoang Thanh Long, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tra Giap commune, affirmed: "The timely and practical support during this launch has partly met the urgent needs of the commune."
"We receive and distribute support to the right recipients, ensuring long-term effectiveness." These acts of kindness from Ban Thach and Viet An have rekindled hope and provided motivation for Tra Giap to gradually overcome difficulties and develop steadily.
