Thanks to favorable weather conditions, most ornamental flowers such as peach blossoms, kumquats, daffodils, marigolds, chrysanthemums, apricot blossoms, peonies, etc., intended for the Tet market in Hanoi and Northern Vietnam are currently of good quality and ready to be brought to spring flower markets.
At this time, Hanoi's peach blossoms are still budding, not blooming too early like in previous years. Ornamental kumquat trees grown in Hung Yen , Hai Duong, and Nam Dinh provinces are bearing abundant fruit and beautiful blossoms. In many places, traders are also beginning to survey market prices for their sales. Tay Ho flower market (Hanoi) has been bustling for almost a week now. It is expected that in about 9-10 days (from the 20th day of the 12th lunar month), flower markets in Hanoi will be even busier.
The Hanoi People's Committee has directed the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade and the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion to coordinate with districts and communes to organize 83 flower markets for the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024. These flower markets will operate from January 20th (the 10th day of the 12th lunar month) until 8 PM on February 9th (the evening of the 30th day of the 12th lunar month) for people to shop for Tet flowers and ornamental plants.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chi, Deputy Head of the Standing Office of the Hanoi City New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, Hanoi will be organizing the "Spring Festival of Peach Blossoms, Kumquats and OCOP Products from Various Regions in the Year of the Dragon 2024" for the first time (in Nhat Tan Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi City) from January 26th to February 1st. The festival is expected to cover an area of approximately 7,000 square meters with 100 stalls and exhibition areas showcasing and promoting peach blossoms, kumquats, ornamental plants, and OCOP products from Hanoi and many other localities nationwide.
