The total weight of steel structures for erecting the roof frame of the Long Thanh airport passenger terminal in phase 1 is approximately 32,000 tons.

Workers and engineers are installing steel structures to construct the roof of the Long Thanh airport passenger terminal.

After being lifted onto the roof, the workers proceeded with the installation of the steel structure.

The steel structure for the roof of the two side wings of the terminal building is being installed. It is expected that the steel structure for the main passenger terminal roof will be installed in September.

The passenger terminal building is considered the "heart" of Long Thanh Airport's first phase. Along with installing the steel structure, the construction units are also working on the concrete floor and main pillars of the terminal.

Meanwhile, for package 4.6, the runway and aircraft parking area are under construction, with the finishing concrete layer being applied.

As for the Control Tower, which is part of Component 2 and is being invested in by the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation, construction is also progressing rapidly.

According to ACV, phase 1 of Long Thanh Airport is expected to be completed and trial operations finished before August 31, 2026. On September 2, 2026, Long Thanh Airport will welcome its first commercial flight.

The Long Thanh Airport construction project, located in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, has an estimated total investment of over 16 billion USD, divided into 3 phases. Phase 1 alone is worth over 5.4 billion USD.

Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 is a nationally important project with significant implications for the socio-economic development of our country. It includes one runway and one passenger terminal, along with supporting facilities, with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year.

Upon completion of all phases, Long Thanh Airport is expected to reach a capacity of up to 100 million passengers per year and become the largest airport in Vietnam in the future, aiming to become one of the international air transit hubs in the region.
