The total weight of steel structures to assemble the roof frame of Long Thanh airport passenger terminal phase 1 is about 32 thousand tons.

Workers and engineers proceed to lift steel structures to install the roof of the passenger terminal at Long Thanh airport.

The passenger terminal project is considered the “heart” of Long Thanh airport phase 1. Along with the installation of steel structures, the construction units are constructing the concrete floor and main pillars of the terminal.

Meanwhile, package 4.6 has completed the construction of the runway and the aircraft parking lot is under construction of the finishing concrete layer.

The Control Tower project, part 2, invested by Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation is also being urgently constructed.

According to ACV, Phase 1 of Long Thanh Airport is expected to be completed and put into trial operation before August 31, 2026. On September 2, 2026, Long Thanh Airport will welcome its first commercial flight.

The Long Thanh airport construction investment project is located in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, with a total estimated investment of more than 16 billion USD, divided into 3 phases. Of which, phase 1 is more than 5.4 billion USD.

Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 is a particularly important national project, of great significance to the socio -economic development of our country with an investment scale of 1 runway and 1 passenger terminal along with synchronous auxiliary items with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year.

It is expected that after completing all phases, Long Thanh airport will reach a capacity of up to 100 million passengers/year and become the largest airport in our country in the future, aiming to become one of the international aviation transit centers in the region.
