
Mr. Vo Pham Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province, said that the tourism industry is proactively implementing a comprehensive set of tasks and solutions for tourism development.
The unit collaborated with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism to organize a Farmtrip program introducing tourism products focusing on the border region, themed "Proud of the Border Region's Landmarks"; and developed an electronic guide introducing tourism investment promotion projects in Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta.
The industry, in coordination with the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, supports the reception of Famtrip delegations from international travel agencies to survey typical tourist destinations, aiming to promote the growth of tourists to Dong Thap, as well as the Mekong Delta and Vietnam.
In the first 10 months of 2025, Dong Thap's tourism industry continued to experience positive growth, with over 5.4 million visitors, reaching 74.8% of the annual plan; of which international visitors accounted for 517,090, reaching 63.8% of the plan.
This is good news for Dong Thap's tourism industry, thanks to efforts in building, promoting, and attracting tourists, as well as investing in and developing unique tourism products with the local identity, creating a new breakthrough on the tourism map in the Mekong Delta region.
Tourist attractions in Dong Thap province such as Tram Chim National Park (Tram Chim commune), Xeo Quit historical site (My Hiep commune), Go Thap lotus field eco-tourism area (Thap Muoi commune), Tan Thanh beach (Go Cong Dong commune), Thoi Son islet (My Tho ward), Dong Hoa Hiep ancient village (Cai Be commune), Tan Phong islet (Ngu Hiep commune)... always attract a large number of tourists to visit and experience. Especially during this year's flood season, upstream communes like Phu Tho and Thuong Phuoc... attracted a large number of tourists who came to visit and experience activities such as setting traps for snakehead fish, rowing boats to pick water hyacinth flowers...
The industry is stepping up tourism promotion and marketing by organizing conferences to introduce and promote local tourism to businesses in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to strengthen connections and cooperation; introduce potential, promote the development of integrated tourism products, improve service quality; create opportunities for exchange, sharing experiences, and coordinating human resource training.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap Province is strengthening its communication and promotional activities to promote tourism in a diverse and effective manner. The unit provides destination information to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) for the GMS tourism promotion campaign. Tourist destinations, historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, traditional craft villages, and outstanding tourism products are updated and posted on smart tourism applications and mass media, contributing to the widespread dissemination of Dong Thap tourism.
