On July 21st, in Buon Ma Thuot City, the Vietnam Plant Disease Research Association, in collaboration with Dong A University and Tay Nguyen University, organized the 22nd National Workshop on Plant Diseases in Vietnam.
The workshop was attended by approximately 130 delegates, including leading experts and researchers from research institutes and centers, lecturers, and students in food technology and agriculture from across the country.

The Vietnam Plant Pathology Research Association currently has 802 members, including 10 Professors, 20 Associate Professors, and over 100 PhDs. Over the past 22 years, the Association has organized 22 national-level conferences, published 693 scientific research papers, of which 564 have direct applications in pest control, bringing practical economic benefits to crops. Many new pathogenic microorganisms, named by Vietnamese authors, have been included in the world's gene bank. In addition, over the years, the Association has created disease-resistant varieties and lines, developed new control methods, and produced many diagnostic products and biological preparations. Notably, the Association has made significant contributions to the successful eradication of rice dwarf virus and rice yellow dwarf virus in the Southwestern region, among other diseases, thus protecting food production. The Association's control measures have been environmentally friendly, employing various biological and integrated farming methods.

This is also an opportunity for delegates to exchange knowledge, share initiatives, and propose highly applicable technical measures in the field of plant diseases in Vietnam. The workshop also serves as a forum for developing multilateral cooperation in scientific research and technology transfer between scientists and research institutes, contributing many effective solutions for the sustainable development of agricultural products in key economic regions.
As part of the workshop program, from July 22-23, the Vietnam Plant Disease Research Association organized a field trip to survey garden cultivation models in Dak Lak province.
