The project to organize two-session-per-day teaching and boarding for public kindergartens and primary and secondary schools in Ca Mau province was approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 0797 dated August 29, 2025, with a total budget of over 942.6 billion VND. To date, 100% of kindergartens implement two-session-per-day teaching, with 189 schools offering boarding, reaching a rate of 96.43%. At the primary school level, 317 out of 325 schools teach two sessions per day, reaching 97.53%, with 30 schools offering boarding. At the lower secondary level, 60 out of 174 schools teach two sessions per day; at the upper secondary level, 30 out of 52 schools have implemented the program.

Despite the achievements, the implementation of the projects still faces difficulties due to a shortage of classrooms, dormitories, kitchens, and storage facilities; some schools no longer have land for expansion; and there is a shortage of teachers and support staff. Currently, the province still has 7 preschools that have not yet implemented boarding programs due to the lack of kitchens; and 8 primary schools have not yet implemented the required number of sessions due to a shortage of classrooms and teachers. At the meeting, many localities requested the province to continue providing financial support and strengthen social mobilization efforts to overcome difficulties and ensure the effective implementation of the projects.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan encouraged each commune and ward to have model boarding schools and model toilet facilities for implementation and replication.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan requested that each commune and ward select and build model boarding schools and model toilet facilities for implementation and replication. He also emphasized the need to continue strengthening inspection and supervision of implementation; promptly commending and rewarding collectives and individuals who perform well, and criticizing units that have not met the requirements.

In the coming period, the Steering Committee will focus on accelerating the construction and repair of toilets and investing in clean drinking water systems, striving to complete them before August 31, 2026; strengthening inspection and supervision, and clearly assigning responsibility to heads of departments if progress is delayed. At the same time, it will continue to allocate capital, mobilize social resources, and add the clean drinking water system to the two-session-per-day teaching plan to ensure synchronized and effective implementation.
