De Bruyne is expected to undergo a medical at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome on June 3, after which he will sign a two-year contract with the Serie A champions, with an option to extend for a further year.

De Bruyne has decided to prioritise Belgium’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers before completing his move, but that doesn’t change the fact that he has opted to join Napoli after his Man City contract expires.

The 33-year-old midfielder is said to be on a salary of around €5.5m per season, with a signing-on bonus of up to €10m.

Family played a big part in De Bruyne's decision. De Bruyne's wife, Michele Lacroix, also visited the Italian city to get a feel for the new home.

By signing De Bruyne, Napoli will have an experienced star in their squad when they compete in the Champions League next season. The Belgian midfielder also fulfilled his wish to continue playing at the top level after leaving Man City.

At the Naples team, De Bruyne will play alongside many players who have played in the Premier League such as Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour and especially his close teammate Romelu Lukaku. Coach Antonio Conte also highly appreciates De Bruyne's talent and considers him an important piece.

Who will replace Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City? Reports that Kevin De Bruyne could move to the Saudi Pro League have sparked speculation about how Manchester City will fill the void left by the creative midfielder.
