The Belgian midfielder is preparing to play his final Premier League game for Man City, as they are vying for a Champions League spot.

Earlier, De Bruyne also announced his departure after 10 years filled with memories and success in the Citizens' colors. The club will erect a statue outside the Etihad Stadium to honor the 33-year-old player.

He and his agent will negotiate the final details before the transfer to Napoli. De Bruyne himself wants a two-year contract with an option to extend for another 12 months.

At his new club, he will receive a salary of 6 million euros per year, significantly less than at Etihad. However, De Bruyne will immediately pocket 10 million euros in signing bonuses.

Major League Soccer clubs such as Chicago Fire, San Diego, Inter Miami, and several teams in Saudi Arabia have all expressed interest in the Belgian star.

Nevertheless, De Bruyne wants to continue playing in Europe and prove that he can still compete at the highest level.

Moving to Naples – the city where he and his wife married in 2017 – could see De Bruyne face Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the Champions League next season.

Napoli have just brilliantly won the Serie A title, thanks in large part to three players who previously played in the Premier League: McTominay, Lukaku, and Billy Gilmour.
