Summer vacation is a time for rest and recreation after a stressful school year. However, the lack of regular supervision from teachers and family can lead to many potential risks of accidents and injuries, especially traffic accidents. Therefore, ensuring the safety of students during the summer requires concerted attention and responsibility from many parties.
At the Chi Lang Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center, before each summer break, the school proactively disseminates information and educates students about traffic safety laws. Through coordination between the school and officers from the Traffic Police Department, regulations on traffic safety and safe driving skills are integrated into extracurricular activities.

Mr. Nguyen Phi Thang, Deputy Director of the Chi Lang Vocational Training and Continuing Education Center, said: Before each summer break, the school increases the time spent disseminating regulations of the Law on Road Traffic Safety to students. While during the school year, teachers disseminate information about traffic safety during the weekly flag-raising ceremony, in the final months of the school year, the school increases the time spent on these activities during the weekly flag-raising ceremonies and weekend class meetings. In addition, the school also requires parents to sign a commitment not to give motorbikes or electric bicycles to their children during the summer break if they are not old enough or meet the necessary conditions to participate in traffic…
Along with the proactive efforts of schools, functional forces in the province, including the traffic police, have also actively coordinated to organize extracurricular activities and disseminate traffic safety regulations to a large number of students in the province before each summer break.
Lieutenant Colonel Phuong Thuc Dinh, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, said: In order to equip students with knowledge of safe traffic participation, especially during the summer break, the department has directed its subordinate traffic police teams and stations to change the form of propaganda, not only focusing on providing knowledge about traffic safety through extracurricular activities, but also emphasizing practical skills training; aiming to test and evaluate students' practical abilities to equip them with knowledge of safe traffic participation.
Specifically, in recent times, the traffic police force has coordinated with schools to organize theoretical training sessions and practical instruction on driving motorcycles and electric scooters on a driving course right in the schoolyard. From the beginning of 2026 to the present, the unit has organized 13 awareness sessions for more than 5,500 students throughout the province and 4 training and testing sessions on safe driving skills with nearly 5,000 students participating.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, Chief of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee Office, said: To ensure traffic safety for students during the summer, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee directs relevant agencies and forces to strengthen coordination with schools and parents to remind their children to comply with the regulations of the Law on Road Traffic Safety; schools and local authorities are to strengthen measures to disseminate knowledge, equip students with information, and organize extracurricular activities on traffic safety during the summer for the children...
The practical, proactive, and flexible activities of all levels, sectors, and functional forces not only contribute to improving the effectiveness of traffic accident prevention during each summer, but also form an important foundation for building a safe and civilized traffic culture in the community, starting from within schools.
