To clean the streets, beautify the city

According to the People's Committee of Song Cau Town, in addition to collecting household waste periodically under contracts with the company, associations and residential areas also regularly organize general environmental cleaning campaigns, especially in coastal areas. The rate of household waste collection in the town reaches 37.46%.

In Tuy Hoa City, the Non-Grounding Garbage Project has been implemented since 2014. Since then, household waste has been collected and transported to Tho Vuc landfill by Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company and Tuan Tu Construction - Trading Company Limited to be treated according to regulations. Wards and communes in the city have self-managed environmental sanitation teams and waste collection points. The city has stepped up propaganda for all classes of people about environmental protection. Thanks to that, people are more proactive in collecting and treating waste, not discharging wastewater indiscriminately, and implementing the 3 cleans including clean houses, clean alleys, and clean roads. Agencies and units sweep the sidewalks in front of their agencies, units, and places of residence and maintain general cleaning every week. Public trash bins have been arranged in residential areas and inner-city areas. Outlying communes have daily garbage collection points to avoid the situation of waste accumulation that causes unsightliness.

In particular, from January 1, 2025, Tuy Hoa City officially changed the garbage collection time in the spirit of "Do not put garbage on the street and in front of the house during the day". Accordingly, household garbage only appears from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. depending on the area and is collected that night. The next morning, the roads and streets are clean, with no trace of garbage left.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien in Binh Kien commune expressed her agreement: Before, at around 2 pm, I would take the trash out in front of my house for the sanitation workers to collect, so the afternoon trash was left until the next day to be thrown away. Many days, because it was left out on the street early, cats and dogs would rummage through it for food, causing the trash to be scattered everywhere, making it very unsanitary. Since the beginning of the year, the trash collection time has been moved to the evening, so my family can live comfortably until 9 pm, when all the trash of the day is collected in front of the house. Thanks to that, there is no trash in the house and when we go out in the morning, it is clean because the trash has been collected at night.
