The math exam was clearly differentiated, making it difficult to score high marks.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Observations at several high school exam centers in Vinh City, Nghe An province, show that many candidates believe this year's math exam clearly differentiates students' abilities, making it difficult to achieve high scores without strong application and synthesis skills.

At the exam center at Le Viet Thuat High School (Vinh City, Nghe An province), after the math exam on the afternoon of June 26th, many candidates said that this year's exam had a tight structure and clearly differentiated abilities, especially in the last few questions.

Le Duy Hoang, a 12th-grade student at Le Viet Thuat High School, commented: “The first part of the exam mainly consisted of recognition and comprehension questions, not tricky ones, so candidates could easily score points. However, from question 35 onwards, the difficulty level gradually increased. These questions not only required students to have a firm grasp of the knowledge but also to be able to apply it flexibly and think logically to solve them.”

According to Hoang, the exam was quite long, and the time allotted was limited, making it difficult for many students to complete the entire test.

"I think that to get a score of 7 or higher, students need a strong math foundation and regular practice with sample questions to do well," Hoang added.

At the exam center at Ha Huy Tap High School, Nguyen Phuong La Ny shared: "This year's exam was too difficult. I estimate I'll probably get 5-6 points."

According to La Ny, the questions weren't long, but they required candidates to understand the fundamentals of the knowledge, especially in geometry and probability, which she found quite challenging.

Overall, at many examination centers in Nghe An province, teachers also commented that this year's math exam ensured coverage of all levels, from recognition and comprehension to application and advanced application.

However, the difference lies in the conciseness of each question; although brief, it requires candidates to have a firm grasp of the fundamental knowledge, and simply memorizing formulas is not enough to answer them correctly.

According to a report from the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, the second subject of the 2025 high school graduation exam took place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations.

A total of 39,772 candidates registered to take the mathematics exam in the province. During the afternoon session on June 26th, 56 candidates were absent without explanation; no violations of exam regulations or unusual incidents were recorded.
