- Besides studying, the need for recreation, entertainment, and participation in cultural and sports activities plays a crucial role in the holistic development of children. In recent years, activities for children in the province have become increasingly diverse and abundant, offering many beneficial playgrounds suitable for their age, contributing to creating a safe and healthy environment for children to develop physically, mentally, in communication skills, and in self-confidence.
During the summer break, 7-year-old To Hieu An from Ky Lua ward was enrolled by her parents in several extracurricular classes such as MC (presenter) classes, dance, and swimming lessons. Besides learning these skills, she also participates in cultural and artistic activities in her neighborhood. Ms. Vu Hoang Yen, An's mother, said: "Our family wants our daughter to have a productive summer, to reduce her dependence on television and phones, and to expose her to a more dynamic environment, helping her develop soft skills, increase self-confidence, and improve her communication abilities."

Not only Ms. Yen's family, but many parents in the province are increasingly concerned about creating opportunities for their children to participate in cultural, artistic, and sports activities, as well as experience life skills. Along with the proactive efforts of parents, the authorities and relevant departments in the province are also paying attention to creating an environment for children to develop physically and mentally.
Mr. Phan Lac Hoai Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Health in charge of child affairs and a member of the Provincial Steering Committee for Child Protection and Care, stated: Besides ensuring the basic rights of children, units, communes, and wards also focus on organizing cultural, artistic, sports, and recreational activities for children. To ensure effective organization, the health sector has coordinated with the culture and education sector and the youth union to organize age-appropriate activities. This contributes to providing children with a safe and healthy living environment.
Accordingly, in recent years, units such as the Provincial Cultural Center have regularly maintained children's art clubs, organized performance programs and opened summer talent classes; youth unions at all levels have organized summer activities, preserving and promoting traditional arts among children; and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has promoted children's sports movements with summer sports classes, while also integrating the dissemination of skills to prevent drowning and injuries for children.
The activities organized were diverse, practical, and attracted a large number of children. For example, from 2025 to the present, the Provincial Youth Union Council has organized competitions such as: "Vietnamese Children - Reaching Out to the World," "Uncle Ho with Children - Children with Uncle Ho," UPU International Letter Writing Competition… attracting over 1,000 entries from children; organized flag-raising ceremonies with themes such as "Speaking Kind Words, Doing Good Deeds," "One Beautiful Story, One Bright Example, One Good Book Each Week" with over 75,000 members of the Youth Union, Young Pioneers, and children participating; the cinema organized 12 films for about 1,000 children; the Provincial Museum welcomed 40 groups with about 6,700 children visiting and learning; the Provincial Library attracted over 20,000 children to read books, serving more than 61,000 children's books and newspapers...

Ms. Duong Thi Huynh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Son commune and Secretary of the Bac Son Commune Youth Union, said: Every year, the commune's youth union organizes many activities for children, such as celebrating Children's Day on June 1st; visiting and supporting children in difficult circumstances; and maintaining summer activities in residential areas. During the summer, the commune's youth union also cooperates with volunteer tourism groups to organize free English lessons and life skills training for children. In particular, members of the Quynh Son community tourism village's performing arts team also open classes to teach Then singing and Dan Tinh playing to children who want to participate, contributing to preserving and spreading the national cultural identity. This helps children in the area have more beneficial playgrounds and acquire useful and interesting knowledge.
It is clear that investing in and maintaining healthy, age-appropriate playgrounds will contribute to creating a favorable environment for children to develop comprehensively in terms of physical, mental, and life skills. This will motivate the "future generations" of the country to confidently study, train, and grow into useful citizens for society.
