TPO - On December 21st, at Nguyen Sieu Primary, Secondary & High School, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the Hanoi Education Sector Trade Union, and the Hanoi Association of Educational Psychology organized the Hanoi Education Forum 2024 to discuss innovation and creativity to make education and training in the capital city a leading educational center of the country.

The forum was attended by many experts, scientists , education administrators, and teachers from schools in the city.

This is also an opportunity to bring together the intellect of experts, scientists, and educators to discuss and find solutions to help Hanoi's schools and teachers innovate and create to meet the requirements of Hanoi's education and training by 2030.

Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Psychological and Educational Sciences, quoted educator and speaker Stephen Covey: "The biggest challenge today is how to unlock the potential of all children so that they can proactively lead their own lives instead of being led by others."

Experts and educators also took time to discuss and share experiences on digital transformation in education.

According to Mr. Lam, that is the key to educational transformation. The task of education is to help each child make their own decisions. Teachers and schools need to focus on core values such as patriotism, love of work, courage, self-respect, and ambition in life.

According to Mr. Lam, Hanoi currently has many types of schools, meeting the needs for developing high-quality human resources, including a thriving system of private schools, creating a rich diversity in education. It is necessary to build a school model that meets the needs of the country's new era of development, oriented towards autonomous, democratic, humane, creative, and integrated schools.

Experts and educators also spent time discussing and sharing experiences in promoting emulation movements in the education sector, including the "Two Goods" emulation movement; experiences in digital transformation and building smart schools; and applying psychological and educational science in the process of building and operating school psychology rooms…

Among the suggestions were proposals for urgent solutions that need to be prioritized to achieve the goal of 2030, which is to form an open, flexible, interconnected, practical, and vocational education system, with teaching and learning linked to learning cities. In this system, schools would be granted autonomy once they have been accredited and recognized for their quality.
