Literature exam for 10th grade in Ho Chi Minh City in 2026

Over 150,000 students in Ho Chi Minh City have just completed the Literature exam for the 2026 entrance exam to public high schools within 120 minutes.

This morning, June 1st, Ho Chi Minh City began the first exam of the entrance examination for 10th grade in public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year. The Literature exam was in essay format with a time limit of 120 minutes. The Literature exam continued to assess competence according to the 2018 General Education Program, increasing the requirements for application and critical thinking.

After finishing the Literature exam, this afternoon, candidates in Ho Chi Minh City will take the second exam, Foreign Language, with a time limit of 90 minutes.

To facilitate the exam, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training arranged 242 examination centers with more than 6,400 examination rooms. The city also mobilized nearly 18,000 officials and employees to participate in organizing the exam, including more than 12,900 invigilators, 1,210 examination center leaders, over 2,900 support staff, and 726 police officers on duty at the examination centers.

The admission score for the regular program is the sum of the scores of the three subjects: Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language, plus any priority points (if applicable). Candidates must take all three exams, not violate regulations, and have a score greater than 0 on all exams.

According to the plan, from June 3rd to June 9th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will organize the grading process, summarize the grading results, and compare the scores. After this period, the Department will announce the exam scores, the cut-off scores, and the plan for supplementary recruitment (if any).
