Warm full moon festival night at Lai Chau border

On the evening of September 24, in Pa Tan commune (Lai Chau), Lai Chau Border Guard Command coordinated with Lai Chau Provincial Youth Union, Lai Chau Provincial Women's Union and philanthropists to organize the program "Border Mid-Autumn Festival Night" in 2025 for over 1,200 local teenagers and children.

The program “Border Full Moon Festival Night” is an annual activity with profound humanistic meaning, encouraging children to overcome difficulties and strive to study. At the festival, children enjoy art performances, folk games, listen to stories about Hang and Cuoi, and learn more about the meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In particular, the children also had the chance to carry lanterns, watch lion dances, break 120 trays of food and receive meaningful gifts from border guards, local authorities and benefactors.

Colonel Le Cong Thanh - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard emphasized that in recent times, border guard units have always cared for children in border areas through activities such as "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard Station" and the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school", which has supported thousands of students in difficult circumstances. In the 2024-2025 school year, the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard Station" has 61 children. The Lai Chau Border Guard Command also sponsored 230 other children; at the end of the school year, 173 children achieved good academic results.

From now until the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Provincial Border Guard continues to direct border posts to coordinate with localities and schools in 11 border communes to organize programs so that children, especially those in difficult circumstances, can all celebrate a joyful and warm Mid-Autumn Festival.

On this occasion, the Provincial Border Guard Command and the Provincial Women's Union presented gifts to 16 students under support programs, 50 cartons of milk and 30 gifts to poor students who have overcome difficulties.

The program "Border Full Moon Festival Night" brought a warm Mid-Autumn Festival night to children in the Pa Tan border area, while strengthening the military-civilian relationship, contributing to consolidating the solidarity to firmly protect the sovereignty and security of the national border.
