Hon Vong Phu National Monument has been invested in a lightning protection system.

Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, the Hon Vong Phu relic site was at risk of collapsing at any time after being struck by lightning at least twice. The last time lightning struck Hon Vong Phu was on June 15, 2022, causing a landslide of a 1 x 3 m rock block in the west and a 2.5 x 3 m rock block in the east. The current state of Hon Vong Phu is a stone pillar about 20 m high, but is tilted more than 10 degrees from the vertical to the east, and could collapse at any time.

After Thanh Nien reported, at the end of 2023, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province directly inspected and requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa to urgently advise, establish and implement a project to protect the relic, not allowing the stone blocks of the relic to continue to collapse, damaging the relic and affecting the surrounding area; Thanh Hoa City People's Committee urgently established an urgent lightning protection project for Hon Vong Phu (completed investment as mentioned above).

Regarding the urgent conservation and restoration project of Hon Vong Phu, Mr. Pham Nguyen Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa, said that after receiving instructions from the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, this unit has completed the project and is in the process of submitting it to the relevant authorities for consideration and approval for implementation.

The national relic complex of art and landscape of Nhoi mountain was recognized as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1992, including: Thuong Communal House, Hinh Son Pagoda, Quan Thanh Pagoda, Tomb of Man Quan Cong Le Trung Nghia, and Hon Vong Phu.
