Celebrating Tet (Lunar New Year) in the style of the Mekong Delta.
Independence Day in Ca Mau is not just a holiday, but also an opportunity for tourists to experience the local culture more deeply. Instead of just sightseeing, many choose to immerse themselves in the riverine lifestyle: setting traps, casting nets, fishing at the foot of wind turbines, catching fish, eating honey from mangrove forests, and preparing traditional dishes on the spot.

Mr. Hoang Van Cuong, Director of the Hoa Binh 1 and Hoa Binh 2 wind power projects, said: “At the Hoa Binh 1 Wind Power Ecotourism Area (Vinh Hau commune), visitors can tour the access bridge and wind turbine towers on the sea; take photos, experience fishing, and enjoy Ca Mau seafood specialties at the eco-friendly restaurant. In addition, educational tours are also being developed to help visitors, especially students, better understand renewable energy and the importance of environmental protection.”

And perhaps, what makes tourists remember Ca Mau the most is its cuisine. Specialties like Ca Mau crab, freshwater shrimp, and grilled fish are appealing not only for their freshness but also for their simple, rustic way of enjoying them, closely connected to nature.

In addition, folk cultural activities such as traditional music performances contribute to enriching the experience. In the garden setting, the sounds of the instruments and songs resonate simply yet profoundly, creating a unique charm for tourism in Ca Mau.
Mr. Ly Vy Trieu Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: Before and during this year's April 30th holiday, Ca Mau organized many events such as: the Science, Technology - Culture, Tourism Week and the first Mekong Delta Delicious Rice Competition in 2026; the launch of the Rice Museum; the 80th anniversary of the Giong Bom Battle; the Southern Traditional Cake Festival…, offering tourists many rich experiences.
Ca Mau province is gradually building its image as a green destination, linked to the conservation of mangrove ecosystems and the promotion of local cultural values. The development of community-based tourism models not only provides authentic experiences for tourists but also creates sustainable livelihoods for the local people.
