Processing powerful AI models requires a lot of computing power, according to Craig Federighi, Apple's director of software engineering. He said Apple silicon chips, including the A17 Pro and the M series, meet this requirement and help make Apple Intelligence features possible.
Users will not have to pay any additional fees to use Apple Intelligence. The feature will be available for free on all supported devices. However, in the initial phase, Apple Intelligence is only available in English (US). Users will need to set their system language and Siri to English to experience the new features. Apple promises to expand support to other languages within the next year.

However, not all devices that support upgrading to the new versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS will support Apple Intelligence. According to the leak, here are the iPhone, iPad, and Mac models that can use the new AI feature:
iPhone
iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro Max
iPad
iPad Pro (M1)
iPad Pro (M2)
iPad Air (M2)
iPad Pro (M4)
Mac
MacBook Air (M1, M2, M3)
MacBook Pro 13" (M1, M2)
MacBook Pro 14"/16" (M1, M2, M3 Pro/Max)
Mac mini (M1, M2)
iMac (M1, M3)
Mac Studio
Mac Pro (M2 Ultra)
Interestingly, although it is called “Apple Intelligence,” these are actually artificial intelligence (AI) features. Apple only used the word “AI” once during the event. The branding of this name shows that Apple wants to emphasize the personal and uniqueness of its approach to AI technology.
