Actor Thuong Tin has passed away.

Actor Thuong Tin passed away at the age of 69 in his hometown of Phan Rang due to old age, weakness, and multiple illnesses.

Composer Tô Hiếu, who was closely associated with artist Thương Tín during his final years, informed VietNamNet reporters that he passed away at noon on December 8th.

He is at home with Thuong Tin's son, Thanh Tung, helping with the funeral arrangements for the late artist.

In early 2021, Thuong Tin suffered a stroke, and his health deteriorated significantly. In September 2024, he fell while getting off a bus and had to be hospitalized.

In late December 2024, Thuong Tin was examined at the Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the right knee and a fractured patella. Without surgery, he risks permanent disability.

However, the male artist's health was poor, making surgery impossible. Afterwards, he stayed at To Hieu's private residence for a while before returning to his hometown in Khanh Hoa .

Thuong Tin was born in 1956, participated in nearly 200 films, and rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s. He appeared in films such as "The Upside Down Card Game," "Saigon Beauty," "Old Man, Beauty and Gangster," "The Sound of the Nation on a Rainy Night," "After the Spotlight ," etc.
