On September 19th, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) issued Official Letter No. 5561/BGDĐT-GDTrH to the Departments of Education and Training regarding the organization of teaching and learning for schools damaged by storms and floods.

Accordingly, the recent floods have caused severe damage to schools, and students in some localities have had to miss school for many days. Even as the floodwaters receded, local authorities and schools made timely efforts to implement remedial measures to welcome students back to school. However, some schools and school branches are still too severely damaged or isolated to resume teaching.
To ensure the continuation of learning for all students and the completion of the school year program as planned, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that provincial Departments of Education and Training direct schools to implement flexible teaching solutions that are appropriate to practical conditions, ensuring the progress of the program according to the school year timeframe without putting pressure or overloading teachers and students.
In particular, it is important to review and develop appropriate plans to bring students from schools and school branches that have not yet reopened back to the main school or other schools in the area to continue their studies; for students who have to travel too far from home, appropriate plans should be developed to support them with boarding or semi-boarding arrangements while the effects of the floods are being addressed.
Teachers from schools in the area are mobilized to support teachers and students in schools damaged by storms and floods to organize teaching and learning; making up missed classes for students who had to miss school. For students who are unable to attend school due to difficult circumstances, schools will implement appropriate measures to maintain their learning, such as assigning homework, and sending teachers to provide direct support to individual students or groups of students at their residences, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
Adjust the school's educational plan and develop a remedial learning plan for students to ensure the completion of the first semester's and the entire school year's curriculum in accordance with the general educational plan of the locality and the country.
