Regulating traffic on inner-city roads with major construction projects in Phu Quoc.

On the morning of December 18th, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone (An Giang province) announced that it had issued a notice regarding the strengthening of traffic control on inner-city roads where key construction projects are underway.

Currently, the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone is undergoing construction of facilities to serve the APEC 2027 Conference, including the undergrounding of technical infrastructure in the Duong Dong area. The large volume of construction work needs to be completed within a short timeframe to be ready for use during the APEC 2027 Conference, therefore, construction must be accelerated to ensure timely completion.

However, recent construction work on some inner-city roads has caused localized traffic congestion, affecting people's commutes and traffic safety in the area.

The People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone requested the Traffic Police Team No. 2 of An Giang Provincial Police to assist the local authorities in strengthening traffic control and diversion from a distance; guiding vehicles to follow alternative routes (if any); and strictly handling cases of traffic safety violations in the construction area.

The construction unit is required to strictly comply with regulations regarding barriers, signs, and warning lights; ensure site cleanliness, and prevent materials from occupying the road and obstructing traffic.
