During her business trip to Japan, Dinh Hien Anh wore a classic ao dai from the old decades to take pictures at some famous places in Kyoto with the desire to spread the beauty of Vietnamese costumes to international friends. While walking here, many tourists admired and praised the outfit the female singer wore. The ao dai has a strong ancient style with a long body that goes past the knee with wide sleeves, worn with white pants and a scarf.

Dinh Hien Anh shared that since she first entered the arts and pursued folk music, she has learned about Vietnamese costumes through each historical period. “Born and raised in a traditional family in Nghe An, I have loved national culture since I was young. From the way I live to choosing music… everything comes from my heart. So when I perform, I always wear old-fashioned ao dai or modern dresses with materials and patterns that have a strong oriental feel. Not only because it suits the music, but I personally feel the most feminine and gentle in those costumes," she said.

When arriving at the ancient Chion-in temple (Kyoto), Dinh Hien Anh wore a bright yellow traditional costume with a long skirt sweeping the ground and wide flared sleeves.

To exude elegance and authority, the female singer also coordinated pearl jewelry, hairpins, scarves, etc. with her outfit.

“I am just one person who loves national culture among millions of people trying to preserve traditional beauty in modern life today. And I am happy that more and more young people are interested in Vietnamese traditional costumes. That shows that they are not superficial, but really appreciate the old values of many generations of their ancestors," she confided.

In addition to traditional costumes, Dinh Hien Anh's wardrobe has more than 100 ao dai sets from old-decade designs to modern designs with a variety of colors and materials. She often goes to ao dai designers to have them tailored to her measurements. Among them, the 1930s ao dai is her favorite design because it is suitable for many situations: performing, attending events or walking around town, going to festivals... The female singer owns more than 10 1930s ao dai with 10 different color tones.

Depending on each program she participates in, Dinh Hien Anh will choose colors and mix them with appropriate jewelry.

Previously, during many visits to Hue to perform or travel with her family, Dinh Hien Anh also wore traditional costumes to take souvenir photos. There is another special thing about Dinh Hien Anh, she has never dyed her hair but always kept her hair black to match the image she is pursuing in folk music.
