According to the article, on the evening of July 13, a group of 4 Laotian tourists visited a street vendor at 5 Duong Dinh Nghe and ordered 4 octopus skewers, 2 okra skewers, a portion of chicken feet, and 3 Chinese sausages. The total amount of money the customers had to pay for the above dishes was 760,000 VND.

“When the customer refuses, they will only be refunded 200,000 VND. That means the same amount of food costs 560,000 VND,” a social media account reflected.

Mr. NQH, a tour guide for a group of Lao tourists, confirmed that he was the one who posted the article reflecting the incident. According to Mr. H., at the time the customer bought the food, he was going up to the hotel room, when he came back down, a member of the group asked if the price of the food was high.

When Mr. H. arrived, the seller thought he was a Laotian customer so he showed him the calculator with the price of 760,000 VND. Mr. H. reacted, and the restaurant representative reduced the price by 200,000 VND. Mr. H. confirmed that the restaurant did not post a price list.

According to many tourists , dishes such as Chinese sausage, okra... only cost about 10,000 VND/skewer, chicken feet also have flexible prices depending on quantity.

With the prices of the dishes of the Lao guests reflected on social networks, many people think that this restaurant charges too high prices.

"This much food probably costs only 350,000 VND at most," one person commented under the post.

“Social media is developing, it’s 4.0. Doing business like this is ruining your own rice bowl,” another person commented.

According to the Chief of Office of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang city, the unit is coordinating with local authorities to inspect.
