Today (June 9th), the 12th ASEAN Para Games continued with the final badminton events in the morning before the closing ceremony in the evening. On this final day of competition, the Vietnamese Paralympic team also had one athlete competing in the badminton final: Hoang Thi Hong Thao.

On the penultimate day of competition yesterday, the Vietnamese team won six more gold medals thanks to Trinh Thi Bich Nhu, Danh Hoa, Tien Dat-Thanh Trung-Danh Hai-Danh Hoa (relay) in swimming; Nguyen Thi Hong, Tran Ngoc Loan-Pham Thi Huong (team), and Nguyen Thi Hong-Nguyen Thi My Linh (team).
The Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia visited and congratulated the Vietnamese disabled sports team on their achievements at the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
Thus, up to the final day of competition, the Vietnamese Paralympic team had won a total of 66 gold medals, 56 silver medals, and 77 bronze medals, ranking third overall. This achievement exceeded the target of a top 4 finish and the gold medal target (the initial target was 50-55 gold medals). Indonesia is guaranteed to finish first overall with 153 gold medals, while Thailand is second with 123 gold medals.
