Popular for its beautiful shapes and diverse colors, the phalaenopsis orchid is also renowned as one of the longest-lasting flowers.

In Ha Tinh city this year, phalaenopsis orchids are being brought in in many different colors. Particularly, this year's market is seeing a surge in demand for orchids mounted on driftwood. According to observations of the Tet market in Ha Tinh city, orchids here are not only priced at a few million or tens of millions of dong, but some uniquely shaped orchid pots mounted on driftwood are even priced at 100 million dong.

The photo shows an orchid pot with 300 stems; the pot is about 4 meters tall. This is considered one of the most unique orchid pots in Ha Tinh city this Tet holiday.

Although it has only recently been put up for sale, this 100 million VND orchid pot has already found an owner.

Pham Linh Tu (27 years old, residing in Huong Son district) said that he and three other florists spent many hours creating this artwork. He realized the idea of making orchid pots on driftwood and named this artwork "Spring Flower Forest".

“I have over 10 years of experience in flower arranging. This orchid arrangement was inspired by the ‘Spring Flower Forest’ concept. The pot contains 300 orchid stems in 8 main colors, including cherry red and miniature map orchids… These are beautiful and unique orchid colors that attract attention. This year, customers are choosing orchids mounted on driftwood because they look natural and harmonious,” Mr. Tu said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoan, owner of an orchid shop in Ha Tinh city, said that to meet the demand for the Tet holiday, her shop has 5 main orchid arrangers and 5 assistants. This year, the orchids brought in come in a wide variety of designs, with prices varying depending on the stem. Some stems cost millions of dong, while others cost over 200,000 dong per stem. This year, the shop is making potted orchids ranging from a few million to 100 million dong, catering to the needs of each customer.

According to Ms. Ngoan, the orchid pot with 300 stems grafted onto driftwood has already been sold to a customer for 100 million VND. This year, market demand favors orchids grafted onto driftwood, as they create a light and natural look.
