Renaming 2 universities

On July 4, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed decisions to rename two universities in Hanoi.

Specifically, in Decision No. 1483/QD-TTg, the Hanoi Procuracy University was renamed the Procuracy University, with its main headquarters located in Hanoi.

According to Decision No. 1485/QD-TTg, Hanoi Textile and Garment Industry University was renamed Hanoi University of Industry and Commerce, with its main campus located in Hanoi.

The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Education and Training , the People's Committee of Hanoi City, and relevant agencies, according to their functions, duties, and authority, to guide and supervise the renaming process, ensuring transparency, preventing corruption, financial losses, and waste of assets; avoiding disruption to the normal and continuous operation of the school; and ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of students, lecturers, administrators, employees, and related organizations and individuals in accordance with the law.

Previously, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly considered and adopted a resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy regarding the organizational structure of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Accordingly, the Hanoi Procuracy University (T2) and the Training and Professional Development School for Prosecutors in Ho Chi Minh City (T3) will be merged. The merged entity will be named "Procuracy University," with a branch campus in Ho Chi Minh City, based on a restructuring plan to transform the Training and Professional Development School for Prosecutors in Ho Chi Minh City into a "Branch Campus of the Procuracy University in Ho Chi Minh City."
