In the festive atmosphere of Christmas, we visited Duc Ninh parish in Duc Hop commune. Walking along the clean, beautiful concrete roads, admiring the modernly designed high-rise buildings and the green, clean environment, we felt the peace and prosperity of the parish.

The movement to build "three-no" residential areas continues to be effectively implemented with the following contents: No social vices; no environmental pollution; and no waste or outdated customs in weddings and funerals. The village's Front Committee, branches, and organizations in the residential area coordinate with religious leaders to propagate to Catholic families the importance of adhering to community regulations and civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals, and festivals. Annually, religious festivals are organized solemnly, in accordance with regulations, and in compliance with the law. To meet environmental criteria, villagers actively sort and process organic waste at home. Livestock farmers use biogas digesters to treat livestock waste, reducing the risk of environmental pollution. Catholic parishioners actively participate in self-governing groups, building a model of a peaceful parish – respecting God and loving the country. Every year, 100% of registered households strive to achieve the status of "Culturally Advanced Family," with no children involved in social vices. As a result of the evaluation, over 95% of Catholic families achieve the title of "Culturally Advanced Family" annually. The maintenance of security and order serves as a foundation for the village's socio-economic development.

Leveraging the strengths of the alluvial plain and with their resourcefulness and dynamism, parishioners in Duc Ninh parish are competing to develop the economy. Many households have boldly switched to crops and livestock that bring in high incomes. Many families earn several hundred million dong per year. As a result, the percentage of well-off and wealthy households is increasing rapidly. The average income of parishioners is over 80 million dong per year. Since 2020, Ms. Pham Thi Hue's family has started raising dairy cows. Ms. Hue shared: "Currently, my family regularly raises 30 dairy cows. To maintain productivity and milk quality, we always focus on hygiene in the barns, keeping them dry, airy, and clean; vaccinating against common diseases according to the vaccination schedule; and preserving milk according to proper technical procedures... We cultivate nearly 7 acres of elephant grass and utilize agricultural by-products such as straw and banana tree trunks in combination with industrial feed to reduce feed costs during the farming process." As a result, the cows are healthy, produce plenty of milk consistently, and the milk is of good quality. Each year, after deducting expenses, approximately 300 million VND is earned.

The festive atmosphere of Christmas has enveloped Duc Ninh parish. During this time, the parish organizes cultural and artistic activities to create a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, and distributes gifts to encourage parishioners in difficult circumstances and underprivileged children who excel in their studies. As the new year 2026 approaches, the parishioners of Duc Ninh parish continue to live virtuous lives, honoring God and loving their country, fostering unity between Catholics and non-Catholics to build a richer and more beautiful homeland.
