Colonel Pham Minh Chien, Political Commissar of Brigade 125, said that the 2026 Lunar New Year takes place at a time when the entire Party and army are competing to celebrate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party and preparing for the election of representatives to the People's Councils at all levels. In the spirit of welcoming the new year without forgetting their duties, the Party Committee and command of the brigade have intensified propaganda and education work, organized vibrant emulation activities, and comprehensively cared for the material and spiritual lives of the soldiers, determined to ensure that officers and soldiers have a joyful and absolutely safe Tet holiday, while maintaining high combat readiness.

Alongside this, cultural, artistic, and sports activities, as well as spring wall newspaper competitions and traditional rice cake making contests, were organized enthusiastically, creating a competitive spirit right from the first days of the new year. The work of monitoring, managing, and addressing the morale of soldiers was maintained rigorously; timely encouragement was provided to soldiers in difficult circumstances and young soldiers celebrating Tet away from home for the first time.

Sergeant Hoang Anh Quan, a maritime officer on ship 626, Squadron 811, is celebrating Tet (Lunar New Year) away from his family for the first time at sea. He shared: "This is the first time I've celebrated Tet away from my family. Although I miss home very much, I feel proud because this is the first time in my military career that I've been out at sea on duty, celebrating Tet and enjoying the spring with my comrades at the forefront of the waves," Sergeant Quan said, adding that he will strive to overcome difficulties, complete his assigned tasks well, and contribute to ensuring a peaceful and happy Tet on the mainland.

According to Brigade 125, alongside Party and political work, training and combat readiness duties are strictly maintained. At the naval port, officers and soldiers meticulously maintain, clean, and repaint every detail; they rigorously inspect equipment, weapons, and technical means, ensuring the highest possible combat readiness rate. For naval soldiers, whether it's a normal day or a holiday, the duty roster is strictly maintained, and combat plans are always ready.

To alleviate the homesickness of the soldiers, Brigade 125 prepared pots of yellow apricot blossoms and branches of pink peach blossoms, and organized a rice cake-making activity. Each cake not only carried the flavor of Tet (Vietnamese New Year) from their homeland but also conveyed the camaraderie and fellowship among comrades at the front lines.

Major Pham Thi Thoan, a professional military officer and manager of the kitchen in the Logistics and Technical Department of Brigade 125, shared that the brigade's leadership had directed a review and the development of a specific and thorough plan to ensure logistics support for Tet (Lunar New Year).

"We place special emphasis on sourcing clean, safe, and high-quality food; conducting surveys and providing transparent pricing in accordance with regulations. Kitchen staff maintain the highest possible number of personnel on duty, preparing a full range of dishes for the Lunar New Year, ensuring the soldiers have a fulfilling and warm celebration," Major Thoan said.

Out at sea, the duty shifts throughout the Tet holiday continue quietly. While the mainland celebrates reunions and fireworks light up the sky, the ships of Brigade 125 remain ready to cut through the waves, patrolling and monitoring whenever the nation needs them. In the eyes of each officer and soldier shines faith, pride, and determination to uphold the sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands.
