Comrade Do Tran Thinh has been appointed to the position of Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Unions, term I.

On the morning of December 19th, the First Congress of the An Giang Provincial Trade Union, for the term 2025-2030, announced the decisions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor regarding the appointment of the Executive Committee of the An Giang Provincial Trade Union for the first term. Accordingly, the Executive Committee consists of 28 members; Mr. Do Tran Thinh was appointed to the position of Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Trade Union for the first term, 2025-2030.

Thai Thu Xuong, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, delivered a speech guiding the congress.

Comrades Nguyen Nhat Tien and Pham Van Dang were appointed as Vice Presidents of the Provincial Federation of Labor. The Congress also announced the decision to appoint 11 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates of the Provincial Trade Union to attend the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026 - 2031.

Thai Thu Xuong, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, presented a commemorative painting to the congress.

In his address to the congress, the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Thai Thu Xuong, emphasized: “For the 2025-2030 term, trade unions at all levels in An Giang province must comprehensively innovate the content and methods of their activities; shifting from ‘the right direction’ to ‘the right and sufficient results,’ measurable and verifiable. The achievements should not only be perceived, but must permeate the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers, into each type of establishment, each family, and each individual.”

Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of An Giang, delivered a speech at the congress.

Delivering a directive speech at the congress, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of An Giang, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, urged all levels of trade unions to have a deeper understanding of the core functions of their organization, especially the role of caring for, representing, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers.

Practical experience in interacting and engaging with workers shows that the top priority today is their living conditions, income, and the effectiveness of trade union care; it is necessary to continue innovating the content and methods of trade union activities, improving the quality of emulation movements and campaigns in a way that is in-depth, substantive, and appropriate to each region and each group of workers.

  "In the coming term, this must be the overarching goal, the benchmark to affirm the practical benefits when workers participate in trade unions," Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nhan emphasized.

The first Congress of the An Giang Provincial Trade Union identified three breakthroughs for the new term. These include focusing on representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, promoting dialogue and negotiation, and signing collective labor agreements, with a focus on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest periods, and occupational safety and health.

Delegates unanimously voted to adopt the Resolution of the First Congress of the An Giang Provincial Trade Union, term 2025-2030.

At the same time, innovate methods of propaganda, mobilization, and gathering of union members, creating a breakthrough in developing union membership and establishing grassroots trade unions in non-state-owned enterprises and the informal labor sector; improve the quality of grassroots trade union officials to meet the requirements of the task.

Innovate the working methods of trade unions at all levels in the province; strongly apply scientific and technological knowledge and digital transformation in conjunction with professional and technical activities in carrying out tasks and trade union activities.
