Bells and drums ringing to pray for national peace and prosperity from July 1

(PLVN) - July 1, 2025 is the first day of operation of localities after the merger. The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha calls on pagodas across the country to simultaneously ring bells and drums to pray for national peace and prosperity.

The Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) has just sent a document to the Executive Committees of the VBS in provinces, cities, pagodas, and monasteries about ringing the bell and drum three times to pray for national peace and prosperity at 6:00 a.m. on July 1.

July 1, 2025 is the first day of operation of the new provinces and cities after the merger and operation of the 2-level local government model nationwide.

According to the Board of Trustees, this is an extremely special historical event in the process of the nation entering a new era of prosperous development.

With the tradition of Buddhism accompanying the nation in every historical journey, the Standing Committee of the Board of Trustees respectfully requests the Board of Trustees of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of provinces and cities; pagodas and monasteries nationwide to ring the bell three times, to ring the Prajna drum to pray for national peace and prosperity, to chant sutras and perform spiritual rituals to pray for peace, to arouse the strength of national unity, the sacred soul of the mountains and rivers of Vietnam.
