Groundbreaking Ceremony of Erex Sakura Biomass Fuel Plant Project in Tuyen Quang

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrades: Chau Van Lam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tuyen Quang province; Le Thi Kim Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province.

On the Japanese side, there were: Mr. Tetsuhiro Nobuta, Counselor of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam; Honna Hitoshi, President and General Director of Erex Joint Stock Company; Yoshika Hirose, Representative Director of TOA Construction and Industry Joint Stock Company; leaders and chief representatives of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), MUFG Bank, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Hanoi Representative Office, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam, Tokyo Energy & Systems INC.

The Erex Sakura Tuyen Quang Biomass Fuel Factory Project is invested with a capital of 478.8 billion VND on a scale of 3.3 hectares with the goal of producing biomass pellets and wood chips. The factory has a designed capacity to produce 150,000 tons of biomass pellets/year and 150,000 tons of wood chips/year. The factory is expected to operate in 2025. The project will contribute to creating jobs for people in Tuyen Quang province, promoting economic recovery.

The factory's high-quality wood pellet products are widely used in many fields such as fuel for thermal power plants, fuel for fireplaces, industrial incinerators, steam systems, drying livestock food...

Mr. Honna Hitoshi, Chairman and General Director of Erex Joint Stock Company spoke at the ceremony.

Mr. Honna Hitoshi - Chairman and General Director of Erex Joint Stock Company, speaking at the ceremony, emphasized that with the support of Tuyen Quang province, the project was quickly granted an investment certificate and the company was able to smoothly implement the project. The groundbreaking of the wood pellet plant contributed to realizing Vietnam's net emission reduction policy, providing stable electricity, contributing to meeting the economic development needs of Tuyen Quang province in particular and Vietnam in general. Vietnam is a country with many biomass resources, so the use of biomass fuels such as wood waste as a sustainable energy source will be the key to bring Vietnam's net emissions to zero.

Mr. Honna Hitoshi emphasized: "From this project, we hope to contribute to Vietnam's energy revolution to increase Vietnam's energy self-sufficiency rate, contribute to local economic development and create more jobs for workers."

Comrade Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son affirmed that in recent years, Tuyen Quang province has always accompanied and cooperated with many partners from countries around the world, aiming at developing the local socio-economic development. Tuyen Quang province has 20 FDI projects from 17 foreign investors, with a total investment of over 340 million USD, the province has received aid from many international partners, including Japanese partners who have supported Tuyen Quang province with 25 projects with a total value of over 1.4 million USD in the fields of health, education, environment, etc.

Erex Sakura Tuyen Quang Biomass Fuel Plant Project is the first project invested by Japan in Tuyen Quang, this is one of the important industrial projects of the province.

After the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway project was completed, connecting 6 industrial parks and 12 industrial clusters, many investors have shown interest in Tuyen Quang.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also acknowledged and commended the planning efforts of the departments, branches and sectors, which have coordinated, facilitated and assisted the investor in completing procedures on, land, investment, site clearance, etc. In order to soon complete the construction and put the factory into operation on schedule, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the responsibility to the provincial branches to closely coordinate with the investor to speed up the construction progress of the factory; the City People's Committee mobilized people in the area to continue to support the investor during the construction process as well as the future operation of the factory.

With the experience and financial capacity of the investor, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that the Erex Sakura Tuyen Quang Biomass Fuel Plant will be completed on schedule and put into production as planned, contributing to the process of green growth, low-carbon economy, contributing to the successful completion of the goals set out in the Resolution of the 17th Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Congress for the period 2021-2025.

Tuyen Quang province hopes that from this project, more Japanese enterprises will continue to invest in Tuyen Quang province, especially in supporting industries, assembly, education and healthcare. Tuyen Quang province is committed to always accompanying investors and continuously reforming administration, improving infrastructure and creating human resources to meet the requirements of investors in general and Japanese investors investing in Tuyen Quang in particular.
