Max Dowman shone in Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Everton in round 30.

The two moments Dowman created against Everton will be remembered for years to come, perhaps even mentioned in the history of English football, if Arsenal win the Premier League.

The difference

Coming on as a substitute, the 16-year-old, just 73 days old, played a major role in helping the Gunners secure a victory and temporarily extend their lead over Manchester City to 10 points.

Dowman is driving the whole of England crazy, thanks to his brilliant performance in just 22 minutes on the pitch against Everton. Before the 16-year-old came on, Arsenal simply couldn't break through Everton's defense.

Fear gripped Emirates as the match neared a 0-0 draw. Arsenal needed something extraordinary. And in the 89th minute, Dowman delivered the pass the home side had been lacking all game.

Dowman's curling and incredibly tricky cross caught the Everton defense off guard for the first time. Jordan Pickford rushed out but missed the ball, allowing Piero Hincapie to head it to Viktor Gyokeres, who tapped it into an empty net. The Emirates Stadium erupted.

The immense significance of the goal was evident in the cheers; even Arteta jumped for joy. No matter how poorly Arsenal played against Everton, that goal changed the course of the game.

Not long after, Dowman continued living his dream. As Arsenal defended resolutely, Everton were awarded a corner. Pickford pushed forward to join the attack, leaving space. The ball bounced out and fell to Dowman's feet.

Unlike many other players who often just try to clear the ball, the 16-year-old talent didn't rush to shoot. Instead, he calmly bypassed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, held onto the ball, and dribbled from his own half all the way to the Everton penalty area before scoring.

A bright future

That's the difference between an average player and a bright young talent. A move reminiscent of Lamine Yamal, or even Lionel Messi or Ronaldinho.

The Premier League and English football have finally found a worthy rival to compete with Yamal and the Spaniard for many years to come. Both are left-footed, possess a fast, intelligent dribbling style, and have a groundbreaking approach to the game.

“Nothing fazed Max,” Arteta said of Dowman after the match. “It was unbelievable what he did. It was a fantastic moment.”

Although Yamal progressed further and earlier, Dowman's performances over the past six months are very promising. Let's not forget that Yamal is two years older than Dowman, and the Premier League is much more demanding in terms of physical fitness and intensity than La Liga.

If Arsenal win the English league title this season and end their more than 22-year drought, Dowman's moment of brilliance against Everton will be remembered for a long time.
