The project has disbursed about 82% of allocated capital.
The project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 824 from Tua Mot to Ranh Canal Bridge was approved by the Long An Provincial People's Council in Resolution No. 30/NQ-HDND dated August 17, 2021.
According to the Long An Department of Transport, the project is about 6.2km long, starting at Tua Mot and ending at Ranh Canal. The project has a total investment of about 260 billion VND with the scale of expanding the existing road surface to 15m (4 lanes), the roadbed width is 18m, using the provincial budget for implementation.
The 2021-2025 medium-term capital plan is expected to allocate over VND 222.2 billion for the project from the centralized capital construction source. Since the commencement of construction, nearly VND 140 billion has been allocated for the project, and over VND 114.3 billion has been disbursed (81.7%).
According to the Department of Transport, the project is divided into 3 construction packages. Package No. 1 (section from Km5+900 to Km8+600) is 2,700m long, and Phu Huong Company Limited started construction at the end of August 2022. The drainage system, curbs & sidewalks have been completed, and the 5cm asphalt concrete layer is being deployed. The implementation value of this package is 58.5%.
Package No. 02 (section from Km8+600 to Km10+240) with a length of 1,640m, was constructed by Thang Loi Group Joint Stock Company from the end of July 2022. Currently, the construction has been completed, and the traffic safety items are being completed for acceptance and put into use.
Package No. 3 (Km10+240 to Km12+180) with a length of 1,940m, constructed by Phu Huong Company Limited from mid-September 2022. Currently, the drainage culvert, sidewalk, asphalt concrete offset have been completed, and 7cm thick asphalt concrete is being deployed. The implementation value of this package is about 70%.
Currently, the implementation of this project is still facing difficulties and obstacles. By mid-September 2023, the upgrading and expansion of Highway 824 from Tua Mot to Ranh Canal Bridge is still facing difficulties in site clearance through a household./.
