
The Vietnam Road Administration has just submitted to the Ministry of Construction for approval the toll rates for vehicles traveling on sections of the North-South East Expressway Investment Project in the 2021-2025 period.
Thirteen expressways are expected to charge tolls, including: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung, Bung - Van Ninh, Van Ninh - Cam Lo, Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh, Chi Thanh - Van Phong, Van Phong - Nha Trang, Can Tho - Hau Giang, and Hau Giang - Ca Mau .
According to the proposal, toll rates on 13 sections of state-invested expressways will range from 900 to 1,300 VND/km. The fee will be calculated based on the actual distance traveled by vehicles and collected entirely through electronic toll collection (ETC).
With this proposal and calculation method, the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway, which is 30.492 km long, will have a maximum toll of 13,774 VND for Group 1 vehicles and 55,094 VND for Group 5 vehicles.
The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway is 58.415 km long, with maximum tolls for Group 1 and Group 5 vehicles at 23,136 VND and 100,544 VND respectively.
The Vung Ang - Bung expressway is 57.339 km long, with a maximum toll of 27,063 VND for group 1 vehicles and 108,252 VND for group 5 vehicles.

The Bung - Van Ninh expressway is 46.428 km long, with maximum tolls of 17,454 VND and 69,815 VND. The Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway is 65.707 km long, with maximum tolls of 20,448 VND and 81,792 VND.
The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway is 11.472 km long, with a maximum toll of 9,750 VND for group 1 vehicles and 39,000 VND for group 5 vehicles. The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway is 79 km long, with a maximum toll of 26,262 VND and 105,048 VND.
The Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon route is 122.45 km long, with maximum tolls of 23,265 VND and 93,060 VND. The Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway is 63.177 km long, with maximum tolls of 19,906 VND and 79,625 VND.
The Chi Thanh - Van Phong expressway is 46.823 km long, with maximum tolls of 20,397 VND and 81,587 VND. The Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway is 83.35 km long and has the highest tolls in the group, with Group 1 vehicles tolled at 32,625 VND and Group 5 vehicles at 130,500 VND.
The Can Tho - Hau Giang route is 37.65 km long, with maximum fares of 13,950 VND and 55,800 VND. The Hau Giang - Ca Mau route is 73.233 km long, with maximum fares of 18,198 VND and 72,792 VND.
Furthermore, the Department of Roads recommends that the Ministry of Construction assign this unit to publicly disclose the fee rates, collection methods, payers, exemption and reduction policies, and related regulations at the fee collection points and on the electronic portal of the fee collection unit, based on the approved fee levels, in accordance with the law.
Group 1 vehicles include passenger cars with fewer than 12 seats, trucks under 2 tons, and public buses; Group 5 vehicles include trucks weighing 18 tons or more and container trucks with a capacity of 40 feet or more.
