This afternoon (August 20th), universities continued participating in the 6th nationwide virtual filtering process for university admissions. Based on these results, the expected cut-off scores for majors at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City range from 20 to 28 points.

Dr. Pham Tan Ha, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that the university determines the admission cutoff scores based on the subject combinations. Therefore, the cutoff scores for each major may vary depending on the combination. Specifically, the projected cutoff scores for the C00 combination (literature, history, geography) this year are expected to shift significantly upwards. In particular, majors with moderate cutoff scores in previous years may see an increase of 1-2 or 2-3 points depending on the subject combination.
"For majors that had cut-off scores in the range of 20-21 last year, the scores may increase to 22-23 this year," Mr. Ha cited as an example.
According to Dr. Pham Tan Ha, for the group of majors with the highest admission scores, there won't be much change. Some majors may see an increase in admission scores, while others may see a decrease, but the shift will only be within a range of two decimal places.
"Currently, the nationwide virtual filtering process for university admissions will undergo four more rounds in the next few days. The university's cutoff score will only change if other universities significantly adjust their admission scores during the subsequent virtual filtering rounds. However, it is highly likely that if the cutoff score is adjusted, it will be higher than this," predicted the Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2022, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City set its admission cutoff scores based on high school graduation exam results ranging from 20 to 28.25 points, depending on the major. The 10 majors with the highest cutoff scores were: Journalism, Tourism and Travel Service Management, Multimedia Communication, Psychology, Information Management, Office Management, International Relations, English Language, Japanese Studies, and Vietnamese Studies. Among these, Journalism (combination C00) had the highest admission score at 28.25 points.
