Tourism that immerses you in nature.

Lately, instead of choosing to travel to luxurious hotels and resorts, young people are increasingly seeking out nature, going to the mountains, the sea, and sleeping in tents outdoors to… balance their emotions.

My best friend texted me: "My job is so stressful! Meeting deadlines month after month is driving me crazy. I wish I could have a few days without my phone, internet, or kids; I just want to truly relax." So, without much thought, my group of friends and I hopped on a boat to Phu Quy Island on a beautiful sunny day to clear our minds. Phu Quy is now more modern with many luxurious and eye-catching resorts and guesthouses, but we chose a small, charming homestay right by the sea. Even though we were born and raised by the sea, we still love the peaceful beauty of this island paradise, perhaps because this small island still retains a pristine charm that few other places possess.

This small island still retains a pristine beauty rarely found elsewhere.

Waking up at 5 a.m. amidst the fresh air and listening to the gentle lapping of the waves, what a wonderful feeling. We went to Gành Hang, sat on a high hill, and watched the sunrise slowly appear. We felt full of energy, our lungs felt full, and all the fatigue and burdens of life suddenly vanished. We wandered along the roads of the island district, where many frangipani flowers bloomed in pure white, their fragrance so pleasant. Just a few days immersed in nature, without worrying about work or family, no one said it out loud, but each of us felt incredibly light, liberated, and freed from worries and anxieties. Then, we returned to the mainland, back to our usual routine, but with a new, more refreshed mindset, and more productive work.

It's not just young people; this type of nature-based tourism is also being embraced by many families. Every few months, Ms. Thanh Hang's family packs their bags, gets in their car, and heads to Co Thach - Binh Thanh commune - Tuy Phong district, stopping at their familiar homestay near the seven-colored rock beach for a relaxing vacation. Ms. Hang shared: “The reason my family chose this place is because it feels like returning to our old home kitchen; it's very cozy, the space is airy with a lush green vegetable garden, and the owners cook traditional, delicious dishes. The seafood is fresh and tasty, the vegetables and fruits are harvested from their own garden, and the drinks prepared by the owners bring back so many childhood memories, such as grass jelly with basil seeds, sam nam (a type of herbal drink), mint water, roasted black beans with ginger… Especially, the rooms here don't have TVs or electronic devices, so the children can freely experience traditional games like jump rope, hopscotch, hopscotch, playing in the sand, swimming in the sea, flying kites… These are activities that city children find very difficult to access.”

Many young people are increasingly seeking to reconnect with nature.

Following the trend, many families prefer returning to the sea, enjoying the sound of waves crashing against the shore each morning, strolling barefoot on the sand or pebble beach, watching fishermen cast their nets, seeing fresh fish and shrimp leaping and wriggling, and lying in a hammock swaying gently, listening to time slowly pass without worry… In the evening, you can sit outdoors enjoying fresh seafood, gazing at the moon while listening to the gentle lapping of the waves. These seemingly small pleasures, however, trap many families in the whirlwind of daily life, leaving them more than half their lives without ever leaving the city to “recharge” themselves.

I love waking up every morning to the sound of waves crashing on the shore.

This type of tourism is not too expensive and is suitable for many middle-income families. Instead of resort stays as a vacation destination as before, families are now increasingly prioritizing tourist spots on the outskirts of cities, with green spaces, beaches, streams, and forests… suitable for health-focused and experiential tourism. Besides beach tourism, many young people also enjoy tours to Ta Nang – Phan Dung, Da Mi Lake, Suoi Da Lake, La Ngau rocky stream… offering outdoor activities and a close connection with nature.

Enjoy outdoor activities while getting closer to nature.

Surely, after each trip, family members are delighted and excited, and it's an opportunity for the whole family to spend time together and bond more closely. More importantly, it's a time to recharge, relieve fatigue, reconnect with nature to live more slowly, balance the mind, and recharge for renewed energy.
