During the 2026 New Year's holiday, tourist destinations and entertainment areas in Quang Ninh province saw a significant increase in visitors, 20-30% higher than usual. Notably, the number of international tourists showed positive signs of recovery, making a substantial contribution to the local tourism revenue.
Quang Ninh provincial leaders congratulated the first international tourist to visit the province on January 1st.

Ha Long Bay continues to be the most popular destination. On January 1st alone, the number of visitors to the bay was estimated at over 12,100, of which over 90% were foreign tourists. The number of overnight stays reached nearly 2,600, mainly opting for 2-day, 1-night cruise tours on the bay.
Valentine Cunaud, a tourist from France, said she chose Vietnam for her extended holiday and Quang Ninh was a must-see destination. "We spent two days exploring Ha Long Bay and will continue our journey to Yen Tu to experience the heritage site," she shared.
International tourists are excited to visit Quang Ninh.

Not only Ha Long, but many other tourist destinations in Quang Ninh also recorded a high increase in visitor numbers. Sun World Ha Long Park welcomed approximately 7,000 visitors, Quang Ninh Museum welcomed nearly 2,500 visitors, and Yen Tu historical and scenic site welcomed about 4,600 visitors.
Notably, on New Year's Day 2026, the superyacht Celebrity Solstice docked at Ha Long International Cruise Port, bringing over 3,000 international tourists and approximately 1,200 crew members to Quang Ninh province. Provincial leaders personally presented flowers and welcomed the first visitors to the locality in the new year.

Alongside tourism activities, many vibrant cultural and artistic programs celebrating the New Year were organized in various localities, most notably the "Quang Ninh - Welcoming the New Year 2026" art program which attracted over 50,000 attendees.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, over the past three days, the province welcomed approximately 530,000 visitors, including 44,400 international tourists. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 1,277 billion VND. On January 1st alone, Quang Ninh welcomed 160,000 visitors, generating revenue of 432 billion VND.
According to the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in order to maintain growth momentum, tourist areas, attractions and businesses have been required to strengthen control over service quality, ensure security, safety, and environmental hygiene, and create a good impression on tourists right from the beginning of the new year.
