In the final months of 2025, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry recorded positive signs of recovery in both visitor numbers and revenue, creating favorable momentum for the peak period of the New Year and 2026. According to the plan, the city aims to welcome 10 million international visitors, 50 million domestic visitors, and achieve total revenue of 290,000 billion VND this year.

Estimates from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism show that in November, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed approximately 780,000 international visitors; for the first 11 months of the year, the total number of international visitors reached 7.37 million, achieving 73.79% of the annual target.

Domestic tourists in November reached 4.2 million, bringing the total number of domestic tourists in the first 11 months of the year to 37.28 million, achieving 74.6% of the target. Tourism revenue in November is estimated at 28,470 billion VND, bringing the total revenue for the first 11 months to 233,566 billion VND, reaching 80.5% of the 2025 target.

From the perspective of travel businesses, Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Marketing and Communications Director of Vietluxtour Company, said that the tourism market in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of 2025 and the period leading up to the 2026 New Year is recovering quite strongly, with an estimated growth rate of 15-20% compared to the same period last year, depending on the market.

"Ho Chi Minh City has always been a key source market for tourists and the largest tourism center in the country. With its leading economic and cultural position and extensive air network, Ho Chi Minh City has all the conditions to become the 'urban tourism capital of Southeast Asia' in the 2026-2030 period," Ms. Bao Thu told Lao Dong Newspaper.

Travel businesses expect the city to focus on three strategic directions: strongly developing the urban-cultural-event tourism model; upgrading river and night tourism products; and increasing infrastructure investment, expanding flight routes, and diversifying products according to different customer segments.

Towards the end of the year, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism also actively implemented domestic and international tourism promotion activities. In mid-November, a Vietnam-Europe tourism promotion program was held in Denmark, aiming to promote the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a friendly, attractive, and safe destination to the Danish and European markets.

At the end of November, during the Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism organized a booth to promote tourism, displaying guidebooks, souvenirs, OCOP products such as Con Dao almond seeds, and many other characteristic products, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and learn more.

Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to host a Tourism Week in December to introduce and promote the city as a tourist destination. Through a series of experiential tourism, sports, and music events, the city aims to stimulate domestic and international tourism, while also creating opportunities for businesses to showcase their products, services, and promotional programs for the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026.

It can be seen that these activities not only help Ho Chi Minh City consolidate its position as a major tourism center of the country but also open up opportunities for sustainable development, building a tourism ecosystem that closely connects aviation, services, and destinations.
