What's on board a 5-star superyacht that can accommodate 5,000 guests?

According to the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA)'s 2024 Cruise Industry Report, passenger numbers in 2023 reached 31.7 million, surpassing 2019 by 7%. Cruise capacity forecasts show a 10% increase from 2024 to 2028, with the number of new cruise passengers increasing by 27%. In the Southeast Asian market, information from travel agency Startravel indicates that tickets for the Anthem of the Seas cruise ship, with a capacity of up to 5,000 passengers departing from Singapore, are in high demand, including many Vietnamese tourists. Anthem of the Seas is one of the world's largest cruise ships, measuring 348 meters long, 41.4 meters wide, and weighing approximately 168,000 tons. The ship can accommodate over 4,000 passengers and 1,500 crew members.

The growth of the economy and the middle class has created a demand for luxury cruises.

Compared to other cruise ships in the same segment, Anthem of the Seas stands out with its enormous size and modern amenities. According to AP, the design and construction process took nearly three years and included integrating the most advanced technologies into the cruise ship.

Along with its magnificent exterior, the superyacht "Song of the Sea" boasts many outstanding amenities, most notably the North Star Observatory. The observatory is essentially a spherical cabin elevated over 90 meters above sea level. From the observation deck, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the sea and admire the sunset from above. In addition, the indoor skydiving service, simulating the feeling of flying without having to jump out of an airplane, is another new feature.

Superyachts offer a wide range of recreational activities.

Adventure-seeking travelers can experience the Two70 service – giant rotating screens creating an impressive visual spectacle, bumper car rides, and many other relaxing activities such as a sun lounge, swimming pool, outdoor cinema, and entertainment area integrated with modern technology…

Why do Vietnamese people tend to travel on luxury cruise ships?

During the year-end holidays, cruise tours focus on "all-inclusive experiences" suitable for families who prefer comfortable, relaxing vacations with entertainment, without the need to travel to crowded places.

The group of tourists from Vietnam enjoyed sampling dishes from various countries, prepared by talented chefs.

The most convenient aspect of a cruise tour is that passengers don't need to check in and out of hotels multiple times. There are diverse entertainment options for children and families, and even a duty-free shopping area right on board with a full range of fashionable clothing, cosmetics, and souvenirs.

When traveling, many Vietnamese tourists prefer to explore multiple destinations in a single trip. Instead of traveling by plane, train, or car between destinations, tourists can simply stay on a cruise ship and enjoy life at sea. This saves time and effort while providing a relaxing and comfortable experience. Furthermore, the growth in Vietnamese tourists is in line with global trends. Choosing to travel by luxury cruise ship is gradually becoming a popular trend worldwide. This year, with the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday from January 25th, 2025 (26th day of the Lunar month) to February 2nd, 2025 (5th day of the Lunar month), many travel companies are suggesting 4-day, 3-night Southeast Asia cruise tours, allowing Vietnamese tourists to return home to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year.
