However, on April 3, 2025, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province issued Document No. 1539/UBND-KGVX on the implementation of the special announcement on the State funeral of formerPresident of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Khamtay Siphandone. Based on the actual situation regarding the time and scale of organizing activities to serve the Hung Kings' death anniversary as planned to take place on April 4 and 5, the Hung Kings Temple Historical Relic Site will stop organizing 2 contents: Lion Dance Performance and Palanquin Procession of communes, wards and towns in the Hung Kings Temple Historical Relic Site (April 4, 2025) and the Banh Chung Cake Wrapping and Cooking Contest, and Banh Giay Cake Pounding Contest (April 5, 2025).
Previously, also on the morning of April 4, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province informed that many entertainment and sports activities within the framework of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Cultural and Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty 2025 taking place on April 4 and 5 will be postponed to observe the National Mourning. Specifically, the matches of the Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament taking place on April 4, 2025 (ie March 7, At Ty year) will be postponed to April 6 (ie March 9, At Ty year).
On April 3, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province issued urgent document No. 1539/UBND-KGVX on the implementation of the Special Announcement on the State Funeral of former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President, former Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Khamtay Siphandone.
The document clearly states that, implementing the Special Announcement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the State funeral of former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President, former Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Khamtay Siphandone, based on Decree No. 105/2012/ND-CP dated December 17, 2012 of the Government, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province requests agencies and offices in the province to fly flags at half-mast on April 4, 2025 and April 5, 2025.
In Phu Tho province, during the 2 days of National Mourning, agencies, units, organizations, individuals, and entertainment establishments will stop or postpone organizing art programs and public entertainment activities.
