Let's explore this new feature and how it can improve the Gmail user experience.
Emojis in Gmail
Emojis, these fun and engaging symbols, aren't just for quick chats on messaging apps. Google has added them to Gmail to make those dry emails more interesting. You no longer need to write lengthy messages or find complicated replies. Instead, simply choose an "emotional" emoji that matches your mood or opinion.
Emojis not only help you express yourself quickly but also create a more intimate atmosphere in email communication. They can make conversations more fun and make it easier to share opinions and feedback.
Is it only available on Android?
This feature has started rolling out on Android devices. To use it, simply open your email in the Gmail app and look for the smiley face icon at the bottom. Tap it, and a menu will appear with "emotion" emojis for you to choose from. Interestingly, each "emotion" comes with a fun short effect. For example, if you choose the party bubble icon, you'll see your screen rain down a lively party when you send or open an email that has the party bubble "emotion". However, for users who don't use Gmail, they will receive each "emotion" as a separate email.
Coming soon to iOS and Web
If you're an iOS user or want to use this feature on the web version of Gmail, don't worry. According to Google, the Emoji feature will be available on iOS devices and the web version in the next few months. This means it won't be long before you experience the fun of using emojis to express your feelings in emails.
While Smart Replies can be a useful feature in some situations, emojis in Gmail add a creative and fun layer to our everyday email communication. Get ready to add a little color to your inbox!
